(BONUS QUESTION: what do you call this type of statue?)

💚☘️ Chicago's Old St. Patrick’s Church is the oldest public building in the city and one of the few that survived the 1871 fire.

A tan brick house with a gabled roof and a small dormer window in front. The entrance features a white-railed porch with steps leading up to it, adorned with white planters. Next to it is a similar house with red brick. The houses are surrounded by a grassy area and a sidewalk in a suburban neighborhood.

The word “dormer” actually comes from a Middle French term "dormeor", meaning “sleeping room.” Fitting, since dormers make attic bedrooms bright and livable, especially in Chicago’s classic bungalows.
