If they do this right it could turn into another "Iron Lung" movie success. I'd recommend looking at a few Kane Pixel Backrooms videos. It's strange yet gets you thinking on different ideas. This movie feels like it'll be a 6.8 to 7.4 out of 10. But I feel this'll surprise us at the theaters.

@raphlife.bsky.social @hinterland.bsky.social @thelongdark.bsky.social @blackfrostgame.bsky.social To celebrate the end of this game I made this. Thank you so much Raphael and everyone involved at Hinterland Studios over the the last 11.5+ years, it's been such a joy to experience this great game. ❄️
Super entertaining film. Full of warm and joyful moments. And some stunning visuals!
@raphlife.bsky.social Update: I just got back from seeing it. You are completely right. THIS is how Sci-Fi movies should be made. Great cinematography, music is just right, acting feels very natural (not forced), and story wise... wow. It got me at several key moments. 9.7 Rockys outta 10.
And just completed the collection! Woohoo! 🎶
Okay. I wasn't planning on going due to how he preformed in Blade Runner 2049 (I know why he acted that way but it still felt shallow). But hearing you say this? Alright, you've got my attention Raphael. The whole premise felt weird, but there has to be a hidden storyline. I'm going to see it soon.
You have no idea anytime I post something on the Facebook Community Page that's positive or just posting information, there's always a few people that have to ruin the excitement. Honestly, sometimes I don't feel like posting information that's just come out, but I do it anyways! The End Is Near!
In my experience, this has become standard practice for Nvidia and all major tech companies. Ask for forgiveness, never for permission, or even buy-in. Developers are part of their value chain and you should feel grateful about it.
And now we'll see how people stand on the whole DLSS 5 standard. How will the consumer feel and will they use it. Personally speaking, it's going to take away from the user experience and feel like a cheap copy of any original idea. This will not work in the long run, people will stop using it.
Oh... my gosh. Wow I need to... uh... gimme a sec. Why do I feel that Raphael will chuckle at how I just overthought your message? 😅
It's not dying, it's evolving into something even better. HOWEVER, this game will remain a staple for many years to come. We've still got a few small updates left but the game will be concluded in two weeks. Once the floodgates open for BLACKFROST we'll still have TLD 1 as an top tier survival game.
Various survivors huddled near a roaring fire, trying to stay warm against a raging blizzard outside.
14 days to Episode Five.
The End is Near!
*Astrid casually sips Burdock Tea on a bar stool near a candle as everyone around the fire panics. Not knowing any of the dangers she's faced. But she does wonder what has happened to her luggage... and her very stubborn/hard headed ex-husband.* 🍵
The town of Perseverance Mills in Episode Five of THE LONG DARK. A misty scene of a wintery coastal village, wooden houses along the coastline looking moody and abandoned.
15 days until Episode Five. The End is Near!
There's always SOMETHING that happens to me during major TLD updates that's wild. To conclude TLD 1, my PC decided to stop working, getting the new future proof model next week JUST IN TIME FOR EPISODE 5! EXTREMELY EXCITED for this! The End of an Era! Big things are happening Raphael! Be proud man!
A 10+ year creative journey is about to come to an end. Only 30 days remaining until the launch of Episode Five, "The Light at the End of All Things".
To all our fans, thank you for being part of this story, and thanks -- most of all -- for your patience in enabling us to tell it our way. ❤️
And from our end. We sincerely thank you for the dedication to Wintermute. Regardless of what anyone says. You’re holding true to your word and delivering the end to this phenomenal project. Please send our deepest gratitude to the team. To you Raphael, you’ve proven yourself as a incredible leader!
It’s an important message that will resonate with many developers. You’ve lit the beacon, now who will respond? 🔥 🏔️
“If you’ve made someone’s day even slightly better you’ve done your true job for the day”, that’s my life motto. One of the best things we can (probably do) is try to ignore bad info if they don’t outright affect us. There’s enough that’ll force us to react. But make the most out of each day.
April 30th, 2015 was my first interaction with this game via a random YouTuber. I remember vividly rewatching every detail, taking in the whole world. Then, life went on and I saw news that Wintermute released August 1st, 2017. I got the game that day and I’ll never stop smiling as I play this gem.
One video game movie I hope will turn out well will be “Bioshock”. The amount of lore you can do and tie in everything in the franchise while focusing mainly on the first gam, it’s alot but will be done right (I hope). However, if done right. This will be another “Ace in the Hole” for everyone.
Ooooo didn’t know there was another series from this creator! Derry Girls was pretty good but some of the adult actor scenes were pretty awkward to watch due to poor acting. However, the majority of the episodes were enjoyable. The best parts were from Sister Michael. I’ll check this out!
Sorry to hear that. 😥 The Travois can respawn at a Lost & Found container at Camp Office. I've had that happen before several times, thankfully the items should still be there. Think of the Travois like the bedroll. Triple check before entering interiors or exiting regions.
They always have a way to cleanse the soul... or bring you to someone who ran into trouble on the opposite side of a now collapsed tunnel. 🥶
Err... maybe? Not sure. 🤔
If it comes out, it'll be later down the road. For now, focus is solely on Wintermute's conclusion. Everything else will follow. Likely to get BLACKFROST news later this year. 2026 will be an end to an era and beginning of the future. 53 days remain; The End Is Near.
