A blue and white striped packet of pork scratchings. The words "Traditional butchers pork scratchings" are in red.
You can't have a pub without bar snacks, so tomorrow's story is all about the weird, the wonderful and the why of pork scratchings.

Had so many firepits etc over the years. This solo stove is by far and away the best but oh wow does it eat logs
Only so much lager a man can take. Last 75cl bottle 😕 with a roaring fire
Supermarket Spanish lager test, so you don't have to. Mahou, failed to spot the brewed in the UK by carslberg on the label. Watery tasteless guff. Estrella Damm a small improvement but still not great. Estrella Galicia, still the best has flavour etc. just a shame it's not the proper Spanish version
Couple more national trusts visited today, Hughenden followed by the very opulent Waddesdon Manor. Time for a couple of PU's.
Our local Waitrose doesn't have half the good stuff they are supposed to stock.
One of the things I really miss since losing my sense of smell!
Ah Friday evening my old friend.
I am going to give it a couple of weeks indoors before venturing out again
First week back on Zwift, really steady low power rides, 4 rides 50 miles and my Garmin training readiness has stayed in the green all week for the first time. Previous week after Fridays ride 50hrs recovery it reckoned 🤣🤣🤣
Zwift cog and click really is very good. After a bit of chainring faff (thank you 130bcd cranks) single speed road bike now repurposed and makes a nice clean and quietish setup.
You've drawn Ben elton

It's been fairly nice here all weekend. Loads of cyclists out getting miles in the sunshine this morning. But not I
Like the whole zwift cog and plan was to stick the single speed road bike on it , but that needs a new chain ring it turns out so the CX bike willndonfor now. Cheapo decathlon trainer works nicely.
Other knee now playing up. We are at plan c and back on Zwift.
This is the stage we are at now with beer stocks!
You've been telling me this for over 20 years you know!
Time to break out the hammers 🤣
Actually getting it (pointlessly) below 10kg does seem doable. Mostly by switching to road tyres. Finally replacing the weird height adjustable stem that i swore to replace the day i got it. Would probably do.
For now the cx bike will do the job. It's pretty good really 10.5kg feels super stiff and if I wanted I could swap from CX tyres to road tyres. Would be nice to lose 500g but don't think there's much scope for it. EGravel is 6kg heavier!
Another tape from hospitality and it's not wrong. We can't afford the luxury of going to the pub as we used to do it's a Sunday pint at a nice pub and that's it. ‘We can’t increase prices any more’: UK hospitality firms hit by cost triple blow www.theguardian.com/business/202...
Feel like I am slowly metamorphasising into a roadie from an mtber. Went out for my lunch ride in just lycra no baggies today and keep pricing up road bikes. This is not good!
Ed Davey: PM must withdraw US access to UK bases to avoid being complicit in Trump's war crimes
This is a point which could become a lot more pertinent for Downing Street in the next day or so.
Get out on that bike
Tad chilly in the shade. Easily rectified
A well earned beer in the garden. Down to supermarket beers now and no trip to Europe planned until July!
Doesn't beer look good in the sun 🍻
The Milbury (maps.app.goo.gl/jSuArHFrGCE5...) it's more of a location pub than beer pub, usually 2 guests (Flowerpots and Alfred's breweries) and tribute on the 3rd pump today. Lovely beer garden and it's on the south downs way.
