In this first installment, Southall Black Sisters examines the impact of No Recourse to Public Funds on victim-survivors.
In order for the Government to reach its goal of halving VAWG in a decade, it must support every victim-survivor, regardless of immigration status.
The Drive Partnership supports the launch of 'NRPF: The Missing Piece in the VAWG Strategy' published by Southall Black Sisters as part of its new ‘Real Impact Series’, which will provide analysis of the Government’s ‘Freedom from violence and abuse’ strategy.

The Government’s mission to halve VAWG in a decade must address the needs of all women across all communities, including migrant women who face additional complexities and barriers. The VAWG Strategy must deliver for every victim-survivor, regardless of immigration status.
We have joined 55 organisations, including our partners at SafeLives and Respect, in supporting an open letter to the Government raising serious concerns about the absence of meaningful protections for migrant women in the VAWG Strategy.
The letter calls for the Government to ensure that ICBs fund and collaborate with Black and minoritised VAWG services and strengthen scrutiny and oversight into mental health support for Black and minoritised victim-survivors of VAWG.
Specialist, trauma-informed support from by-and-for organisations is essential to ensuring that all victim-survivors can access the support that they urgently need.
We have joined 40 signatories of Imkaan's joint letter to the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care
We stand in support of Imkaan’s important campaign, ‘Out of Sight, Out of Mind’, which highlights how Black and minoritised victim-survivors are being left out of specialist mental health support; with Integrated Care Boards (ICBs) failing to fund specialist by-and-for services.

Thank you to EVAW for inviting us, and to speakers Kanishka Narayan MP, Minister for AI and Online Safety, Emily Darlington MP, Alex Davies-Jones MP, Minister for Victims and VAWG, and EVAW’s brilliant Interim Director, Janaya Walker.
The reception included powerful speeches on the emerging challenges that we face in tackling violence against women and girls, but was full of hope in the determination and collaboration across sectors and systems to adapt and address them.
This morning, we were delighted to attend the End Violence Against Women Coalition’s reception launching its 6th annual Snapshot Report ‘VAWG-Coded: From AI to Weaponisation - the Changing Landscape of Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG), sponsored by Emily Darlington MP.

We were proud to support the launch of this invaluable programme and delighted to have witnessed it grow, now marking its fourth cohort. Huge thank you to Meena Kumari, Director of H.O.P.E CIC, and everyone involved in leading this work.
It was brilliant to join H.O.P.E Training & Consultancy in celebrating the Leadership Programme graduates on Wednesday and great to see that 80% of participants were from by-and-for organisations, with thanks to funding from Mayor's Office for Policing And Crime (MOPAC) and City Bridge Foundation.
Huge congratulations to all those who graduated from the H.O.P.E Leadership Programme last week, including colleagues from SafeLives and The Drive Partnership!
