Fujimoto's "Woke-up-as-a-girl Syndrome" is v interesting in that Fujimoto staged it as BOTH a FtM and MtF allegory. Obviously man trapped in a woman's body, but note the abuse the protag is subjected to is transmisogynistic and the horror of their gf they can no longer have PIV sex

Fujimoto doesn't use tropes about loneliness and abuse to make Denji sympethetic. He makes Denji sympathetic in order to say things about alienation, abuse, control, etc.

we all know by now how annoying it is when people look at chainsaw man and write it off with "ugh denji's such a gooner" because they can't engage with the themes, but there's also the fans who get that stuff but are like "if my favorite character doesn't get a happy ending fujimoto's a hack writer"

It was just perfect.
My favourite scene was the rooftop scene. They do some crazy stuff with the direction in that. Honestly the best action sequence was reze vs random hitman on the rooftop.
Better than even the action galore of denji vs reze.
