The trick to weaponized incompetence is pointing it in the right direction, I guess.

So very not surprised that peace talks led by Vance failed
It's hard to grasp, even though I did grow up in the 70s and 80s.
The biggest disadvantage to working remotely is you can't use manslaughter as a defense when you have to deliberately get in your car and possibly cross state lines.
It turns out it's a browser issue - LibreWolf has a security feature that makes it harder for location data to be extracted from images (or... something like that), and apparently it's not compatible with whatever mechanism BlueSky uses to post images.
IT WORKED!
It works when I post from Chrome.
It does not work when I post from LibreWolf.
And now that I know that, I found the bug report that specifically describes the problem I'm having: codeberg.org/librewolf/is...
Look I'm just gonna go ahead and copy and paste the alt text from the picture because IT'S THE SAME PICTURE so... ahem... This is a screenshot from Starfield, a game 99% of the internet hates, apparently, but I very much do not. An astronaut is silhouetted against a pretty orange sky with a large ringed planet hanging in the sky just over the horizon. OR IT'S JUST A RECTANGLE FULL OF VERTICAL LINES, I WON'T KNOW UNTIL I ACTUALLY POST IT
Same screenshot, different browser.

Let's try another in-game screenshot.
So far I've learned that I can successfully post images from my phone but not from my desktop computer. Current hypothesis: I'm running a browser privacy plugin that is screwing everything up somehow during the transfer.
... I am writing this with my phones keyboard which is too small for my ridiculously oversized thumbs so let's keep it short: weather app, empty space, folders, quick apps
Next test: a screenshot of my phone home screen. God help me I am reduced to this.
NO! Once again I get a rectangle filled with vertical bars instead of the actual image I tried to post on my feed.
I am nonplussed.
Once again a screenshot of my desktop. I really don't feel either of us will be served by another description of this, and yet I feel a gnawing sense of obligation to do so: tiny button bar on top, large button bar on bottom, window in upper left corner showing all the files I've downloaded to the desktop area. Blue, green, and yellow abstract wallpaper. Lots and lots of icons, because I like icons.
OK, continuing this stupid, stupid test: I have re-uploaded the screenshot of my desktop, only in a different file format.
Oh, this one works! I wonder the difference is between this image and the other two.
A black French Bulldog/Pitbull mix is curled up over a comforter as she rests peacefully, ignoring the camera intruding on her personal space.
This, sadly, is the most I've used BkueSky in months: in my third attempt to post an image to my feed, I post a picture I took of one of my dogs.
A screenshot of my desktop! So boring. There's a strip of tiny buttons on the top, and a strip of larger buttons on the bottom, and a little rectangle in the upper left corner of the desktop full of icons representing things I saved to my desktop. The desktop wallpaper is an abstract blue, green, and yellow pattern. Or, if this DOESN'T work, it's just a rectangle full of blue vertical lines.
This is also a test: I post a screenshot of my desktop in a continuing exploration of Can I Post Images To My Feed.
So I tried to post a random screenshot I took from an old game and all I got was a rectangle full of vertical blue stripes. I have to assume I hit some kind of Bluesky censor, though it's weird that it correctly _previewed_ the image and let me add alt text to it.
It appears I have forgotten how technology works!
An old screenshot of a player-modified Oberland Station, a settlement in Fallout 4. Train tracks run through the walled settlement, and a number of multi-level buildings built from grimy, dust-caked glass and corrugated steel are packed inside the walls.
This is a test: can I actually post an image on my account, or have I completely forgotten how technology works?
Well it's official. I don't know how social media works any more, lol.
The "you're welcome" at the end is just... so perfect.
I need to get a new brown coat.
The second election of Trump was the US looking at Brexit and saying "hold my beer"
The quote "Died and are, right now, walking around with no legs, no arms" mostly just re-enforces a general sense malaise in me but there's this little space in the back of my head dedicated to thinking "that's a great writing prompt"
Last year sucked. I mean, for everyone - I'm no special snowflake in this regard - but that doesn't really change that it sucked. I got to experience being DOGEd (again, like many others) and that bit of chaos was... er... distracting.
I would very much like to regain my focus please.
Also to clarify: "not a Rush guy" doesn't mean anti-Rush, it just means back in college I'd be hanging out with musicians who would wax rhapsodic about Rush and I'd say "yeah, they're very good musicians" and THAT WAS THE WRONG ANSWER BECAUSE IT LACKED REVERENCE and they'd explain why for two hours
I'm not a Rush guy but I've had Tom Sawyer running through my head for the last two days somebody send help
Looks like F.D Signifier's Tyler Perry video has been taken down already.
Tyler Perry REALLY doesn't want you to see it. Wonder why.
...
Anyway, it's up on Nebula right now. And you can get a free trial to the site.

but now I want to see medicines named Cer'li'oth and Dur'zakkar :-D
Ever since my mid-30s I'd get a very low-grade non-stop panic attack that would last three and a half months (January until tax day). Even if we did our taxes early, I'd still be stewing in fight or flight until tax day ended. It sucked.
But THIS YEAR I found that GODDAMNED MONKEYS PAW
I think the biggest impediment to any kind of immigration reform is racism, pure and simple. It's not that the other impediments aren't also there and difficult to overcome, but that one breaks everything on the grounds that consistently applied and enforced rules will still let in the wrong color.
