Al Jazeera correspondent Mohammed Wishah was killed in an Israeli drone strike near Gaza City. His death brings the number of Palestinian journalists killed since October 2023 to 262.

It is the deadliest war for journalists in history.

While Western governments have expressed ‘deep concern’ over the bill, their words remain perfunctory. An urgent, uniform response is needed to call out Israel’s targeted killing of Palestinians and its explicit apartheid legal system.

This is an act of religious persecution. Neither Christians nor Muslims are free to practise their religion in occupied Jerusalem.
