I'm not big on vampire books in general, but for a story like that, I would definitely make an exception! π

Wow, that's awesome! Huge, huge congrats!
Thank you so much! Congrats to you too! π
Thank you so much! I hope you enjoy them and that they help other writers in some wayπ
1: the #RevPit annual contest was never about ranking how good your MS was. it was always about editors finding a MS they felt comfy and confident providing a solid dev edit for in a limited amount of time.
some ppl didn't win bc their MS was already query-ready.
Thank you! I still can't believe it π
Thank you so much! π
Thank you so much! I still can't believe it π€© And huge congrats to you too; MG fantasy writers of the world, unite! π₯³
Huge congrats to all the other #RevPit winners and runners-up! If you weren't picked, please don't give up! I'll be cheering you guys on next year π
So I had to wait longer than others (results came in at 1-2AM my time) but it was worth the wait! I can't believe I'm a #RevPit winner; it seems like something out of a dream! I'm so excited to work with @azali-avenger.bsky.social on Juno's story!
π€© Thank you so, so much! This is amazing; I never thought I'd get picked. I'm super-excited to start working with you to polish Juno's story too! π
Yeah, my CP had a similar complaint about my MC: "She's behaving rather childishly, isn't she?"
ME: That would be because she IS a child!
"Upperclassmen" is kind of a tricky one. It's not used much that I'm aware of, but we don't really have another word that means the same thing. "Seniors" refers to a specific year in college instead of "someone who was further along than me but I'm not sure by how much."
That is truly amazing! Thank you so much. You are a queen among butterflies π¦πΈπ
Wants to be near her family? Also again, it comes down to majors. I don't know about Yale and can't be bothered to check, but AFAIK Harvard's math major is only for those wanting to go into mathematical research and not simple teaching. Not that I'm up in math enough to know the difference, mind π
Usually, I like living in a different timezone 'cause it's fun telling everyone that when they talk to me, they're talking to someone in the future. When it comes to #RevPit and #RevPitWaiting though, I'll happily make an exception 'cause I have to wait until Wednesday to get the results π
Best guess? AFAIK those two have very high standards and Theresa likely didn't make the grade. She's not the World Empress yet, so they won't take her just because she's famous. Also, IIRC she just wants to become a math teacher, and Harvard/Yale are for those aiming at higher things.
What's a grease board? Is that like a whiteboard?
Normal people would say, "Sure. Lead the way."
I believe the subtext in this novel is rapidly becoming text...
...It really won't. It might LOOK like a straight line if the curve is too gradual to notice, but comets move in curves.
Ooh boy. 10Qs is a lot of fun, but it can also drive people crazy trying to guess π
You might still have got a 10Q πI'm 100% with you on AO3 though; I spend almost as much time writing for that site as I do my original work π
As opposed to "innocently feeding my GUILTY chipmunks," which had the potential to be a much more interesting story π
I count three uses of "the ground" in four consecutive sentences. Didn't anyone ever teach Norman the old adage that "repetition is bad construction?"
Honestly, I actually like that Norman DOESN'T go down the "cheerleaders are vicious elitist bitches" route, as well as acknowledging that being one takes a LOT of athletic ability.
Yeah, that was my take on it too. Ben Elton did this in Blind Faith, where two people attempting to subvert the fascist government meet in the local McDonald's to discuss it, as it's so packed and noisy that everybody's too focused on their own conversations to hear anyone else's.
