Y'all, grief and mourning are weird. Because she was such a presence and regular part of my day, I keep turning to where she'd be sitting right now and expecting her to be there. She was my whole life, my whole day, every day. My daily routine existed because of her.

It was a regular cycle that I won't be able to break so easily. There is a cat shelter not too far from us. I think I'll go see if they would accept the rest of the packs of her food, and the barely used drinking fountain, as a donation.

4pm ended my every day and was her first meal of the evening. This is about the time she'd come to me and let me know she BEEN ready for food 😅I put her on a regular cycle that helped me manage the day: 8a, 12p, 4p, 8p, and then right around midnight before I went to bed.

Thankies. I keep turning to her pillow like I expect her to be there. It's kinda surreal.

Thankies. It's funny how much time I spent working on patterns of love and care for her and now realizing how hard they're going to be to unwind from my day. She was such an active part of my day and night, with me from rise in the morning until bedtime.

She was my little baby and I wanted more time with her.

At night, if I got up in the middle of the night and came into my office, to sit quietly, she'd be right there with me, snuggled up on the floor or bunting me, demanding pets.

I feel like our whole home life revolved around her. She was our one and only. When I went to bed, she followed me and patiently waited until I turned out the light and was tucked in bed before heading to the living room to snuggle next to my partner.

She was my favorite little WFH coworker, and morning alarm. She was my reminder to open the blinds and let the sunshine in. Oh man, she had this way of crying that was a bit of a whine when she wanted a treat or a snack.

She was the sweetest, gentlest, most demanding little princess. I keep expecting to see her step into my office to ask for treats, or get my attention for a massage before laying on her pillow, or tripping over her as she tried to be my shadow when I walk out my office.

My partner and I sat in their waiting room bawling for what felt like hours while we held our girl, wrapped in the blanket and towel we brought her in.

She gave her last breath before we had even walked through their doors, and I hadn't accepted it. The doctor had to tell us what in my heart I had already feared.

When we had bundled her up to get her to the emergency vet, I believed so hard that we'd be bringing her back home with us, that they could see her, take care of her, and give her back. Healthy, if not a little tired.

Saddest news I'd ever thought I would share. My guy and I said goodbye to our little girl Bean a little bit ago. I'm processing and focusing on things I can do right now, but it's weird coming home and she's not here to greet us, and also a little humiliating.

I'm so excited at the thought of that hypothetical. I was thinking about that with the Absolute books, myself! And honestly, if that happens, then it may be an indicator that the market isn't interested in curated nostalgia as a main line anymore, and it has economic data to back it up.

Today ended up being a mixed bag of a day and I'm wrapping it up with music stuff.

A handful of gummy bears only moments before bedtime? I clearly don't want to sleep through the night.

That's fun! Today's the anniversary of me getting my violin :) Started learning four years ago and... well...

Wow. It felt really good to go live today after... weeks of not 😅 And I got a bunch of page work done, too!

Thankies! Yeah this yarn was SO much easier to see than the stuff I started with that is this crimped, twisted yarn. The stitches are much easier to read without the crimping.

Y'all, learning to crochet has been so good for me! Gonna do this instead of my morning doom-scroll. I bought four new rolls last night after my flute lesson, and I'm going to practice my various stitches with some little swatches.

This is timely as I'm going to be working on mine today.

Honestly? Streaming has been a lot of fun and I want to keep doing it. But, I think I want to not do it every week and just be an artist who shows up occasionally with something to say. So, you know, I'll be around. We still have to get through Final Fantasy 5, after all :)
