Tsunami warning happening across multiple prefectures in Japan right now. 7.5 Richter earthquake. It's high tide and it's looking like those waves are going to get as high as 3metres..not good.

It's strengths lie in its side characters & the stellar actors bringing them to life, but there's a few too many & everyone gets shortchanged. It's sprawling with no space, so zany becomes the vibe instead of meaningful interactions. 8 EPs can work but this feels like half a season of not much.
Sunny Nights pulled me in with that amazing cast of locals & internationals, & threw me out with a handful of bafflingly dumb choices to keep the plot moving. Left the feeling that it was meant to be funnier but they stuffed it up & were left with a harder edge with bum notes & no imagination.
Because of "a landowner complaint about overflow on their property".
This is murder on a grand scale. Just throwing our world away.
What the hell @chrisminnsmp.bsky.social #auspol
All the politicians letting him & his cronies enrich themselves because maybe there's a chance "It could be me!" is America to the core. Not "It's for us!". United States of White Collar Parasites.
The week ahead is looking to be some rewatching of Akira & Tetsuo with a hearty helping of Shūji Terayama, so there will be no chilling out.
Getting in a headspace for upcoming Japan visit (plus soaking in the collapse of human civilisation).
Wasn't there some Fox exec who absolutely hated the idea of X-Men movies & worked to sabotage them? I only heard about that recently but never followed up for more details. Maybe that's the only way anybody got scripts past him. Hateful turd needs hateful shit to feel good about himself?
Recent activity on Letterboxd: Deadly Outlaw Rekka (4 stars). Big Time Gambling Boss (5 stars). Neon Genesis Evangelion (heart). Jiro Dreams of Sushi (3 stars).
The #LastFourWatched on this #LetterboxdFriday were as dense as the world has made me feel (& no, Jiro was not any kind of emotional reprieve)
Believing in dogma more than believing in change.
And the world changed anyway.
So, we shall fall.
I reckon that this is going to be the most mysterious image I see this month, maybe even this year. I am so confused and I will not be seeking answers.
I am ready to accept that cinematic Street Fighter hot nonsense.
I'm just going to be over here processing Neon Genesis Evangelion for a couple of days.
Respect shifted into something deeper with The End of Evangelion.
Can we burn down Capitalism now, please?
Corporations will not band together to help us get through hard times.
They will tear civilisation apart before helping any community.
Tear Live Nation & Ticketmaster apart!!!
Reading about Edogawa Rampo. He was a soba peddler in Tokyo in the 1910s before making it as a writer, which required the blowing of the "eerie-sounding flute" that was standard for a soba peddler. I really want to know what this sounds like but I can't find further information!!!
Pretty sure he is a wombat x couch mix actually
I'd bet money that the cats outnumber the people in Victoria.
yelling "did the computers put you here for my eyes to perceive!" at the Geese lurking at the edges of the IKEA parking lot.
Whopping Bee Aggregation needs to be a band name. Preferably of the metal variety in honour of these goth as fuck burrowing bees.
Angus Taylor's big idea is checking people's underwear for shit stains when they enter Australia! Got shit stains? Not entering the country! Spends millions & all it does is make everyone clean their underwear before entering. Except it's phones but still people's privacy & utterly useless. #auspol
economics is the 'science' of justifying why the wealthy have everything and the poors have nothing, it's just phrenology with extra steps
economics is religion not science and economists are priests entrusted with repeating the gospel to true believers, a belief system completely divorced from real people's lives

Today is officially the 30th anniversary of Steamed Hams. On April 14, 1996, "22 Short Films About Springfield" aired for the first time!
BUFF is back and I had a fun, far-ranging chat wth festival director Felix Hubble about the underground leading the mainstream, upskilling have-a-go heroes and an insatiable hunger for out-there cinema old and new that's rewriting the future bit.ly/4ckSfip
It's almost like it's some kind of trap the media lays for democrats, and being caught in a trap is the Dems fetish.
Angus Taylor can get fucked. A man who is nothing more than dog turd pixels. You aren't worth any more than this statement, and it's blowing in the digital winds going nowhere.

Respond to their blank look with "Manchurian candidate activated"! Lean in! Lean in!!
Finally JD Vance being a constant loser led to a positive outcome! Three cheers for Hungary!
I took some heavy pain medication today & accidentally watched the Rin flashback episode of Fruits Basket season 2. If these means nothing to you then you need only know that I am not exactly joking when I say that I need to stick to safe things like Buttgereit films in such states.
image from inside Artemis II text: i need more men to understand that two men crying and hugging in space after one of them announced they were naming a moon crater after the other one's late wife is actually what peak masculinity looks like.
