About this event. Miles Davis Prom.
Miles Prom looks like it's going to be good. No mention of Gil Evans though, I mean, it was his work as much as Miles during this period. I'm sure MD would agree, and Gil wouldn't care, but still...

Here's Nancy singing a sing she wrote on the Boots album...

Blimey...Colter's unique sound, showcasing her wry, sensual flair for funk, roadhouse blues, gothic country-rock, Southern swamp, and witchy Western soul. Colter unleashes a tour de force, here: declarative, imaginative, rollicking, and mystical tunes make this collection soar from start to finish.
Found this in my locker. Forgotten about. Jessi Colter. She was Mrs Waylon Jennings. He helps out. Not my bag, but occasionally you get horns, strings, gospel singers. Maybe a grower? Anyway. NP
Ooh.

The fabulous Clara Ward. She was a Ward Singer in the gospel group of that name. Short but incredible career. This is a late 60s Axelrod production.

Rab Noakes Do You See The Lights?
Was listening to the World of Contemporary Folk, one of those there were loads of em Decca compilations. Quite liked the Rab Noakes tune, like it more having seen the album cover.
Excellent. Thank you. I really liked After the Goldrush. Again, not what I expected, perhaps begs the question - what did I expect?
I really like it. It's not how I imagined it would sound. Which is good.
And that worries me!
I've seen it posted and highly praised which swung it.
I've avoided him for many, many years. It sounds quite ace.
On The Beach
This turned up in the charity shop the other week. It's now the second NY album I've bought (outside of BS/CSNY). Anyway, it was mint, so I had to. NP
Always fancied seeing them. They certainly look the part. Next time maybe, no Pie though! ๐
Just reading positive things about Fillmore. Oh jaysus, no. Who on earth gets listening pleasure from it, fair play to them. But...pass
Indeed. Wonderful records.
It's ace! ๐
That's excellent. Thank you.
Yes indeed!
Dudley may have been a better musician than comedian. And considering his ability at the latter, well, says all you need to know. This track and the album it's from have been a constant since finding it. Just perfect.

Oh yes, you recommended that album some time back. That track is amazing.
Beautiful. I'm always checking online hoping such things turn up at an affordable price. They never do. Sadly.
Magnificent.
Wow. That's ace. I shall give it a read at some point.
It does. Waves of sounds!
I need to hear his hair! ๐ He's amazing, just listening to Explosive Corrosive Joseph. Quite something.
John in his pomp.
Space Age Soul cd
Listening to John Schroeder. He wrote a book i believe. A must read one day...
Open Water - Caleb Azumah Nelson
What a beautifully written debut...
Haha.
They're getting phones out, look...quick step up the pace!
