US Army Strategists unite! Great to have a handful of current and former FA59s supporting GNSI’s undergraduate strategy competition…

Beautiful morning run around USF before the undergraduate strategy competition. Could not have asked for better weather…
SUPER excited about these new MWG opportunities! Took a ton of work and years to get it off the ground. Highly recommend MWG members apply for these fully funded writing retreat opportunities!

So proud of this smart, talented, soon-to-be HS graduate! She’s rocked it the last few years @uncsa.bsky.social…and we look forward to her continuing to grow there next year at the university level. 😍🫶🏻🩰
Bedazzled by the great Kate (Dahlstrand)!
Adventures in the Western Hemisphere…
Thanks!
I appreciate @kschake.bsky.social's efforts to shed light on these vital issues, but I am less sanguine
Politicization operates through multiple mechanisms not captured by analyzing the credentials or past partisan commentary of senior officers replacing those who have been fired. 1/
My terrific RA, Caleb Dixon, and I tracked the military firings and replacements so you can judge whether the military leadership is being politicized: www.aei.org/military-ous...
From time to time…when I need a reminder of what’s important in this world…or what I should be doing in it…I return to the wise words of Jonathan Murad. This speech still slaps a dozen+ years later…
USAF is placing all bets on ISR in orbit.
And the thing is, the Army already played this game when it thought 2000s era RPAs would replace the need for ground reconnaissance.
Neither are untouchable and we will regret it.
Great trip to San Antonio and Leavenworth to talk to folks about U.S. Army Western Hemisphere Command. Much BBQ was consumed…
Those guys make the conversation so easy…
Had a glorious time at W&M talking about “Orchestrating Power,” helping teach a class on American statecraft and strategy, participating in a great simulation on economic geopolitics, and catching up with friends and the Tribe!
Had a wonderful time at Duke last week launching “Orchestrating Power.” It truly was the best place for my first book talk…among the people and buildings that helped me write it. Thanks to the faculty, students, and interested local residents that came out to ask such great questions!
Thanks, Phil!
As the weekend gets started, check out my interview with @nathankfinney.com about his book “Orchestrating Power” on the role of North Carolina’s Council of Defense during WWI mobilization on the Strategy Bridge Podcast. traffic.libsyn.com/secure/thest...
