An image of a list of the 27 grievances against King George III in the Declaration of Independence. Donald Trump's regime has committed at least 20 of them in whole or in part, condensed into the list below:
1.	He has refused his Assent to Laws, the most wholesome and necessary for the public good.
2.	He has refused to pass other Laws for the accommodation of large districts of people, unless those people would relinquish the right of representation …
3.	He has dissolved Representative Houses repeatedly, for opposing … his invasions on the rights of the people.
4.	He has endeavoured to prevent the population of these States; … obstructing the Laws for Naturalization of Foreigners …
5.	He has obstructed the Administration of Justice …
6.	He has made Judges dependent on his Will alone, for the tenure of their offices …
7.	He has erected a multitude of New Offices, and sent hither swarms of Officers to harrass our people, and eat out their substance.
8.	He has kept among us, in times of peace, Standing Armies without the Consent of our legislatures.
9.	He has affected to render the Military independent of and superior to the Civil power.
10.	He has combined with others to subject us to a jurisdiction foreign to our constitution … giving his Assent to their Acts of pretended Legislation:
11.	For Quartering large bodies of armed troops among us:
12.	For protecting them … from punishment for any Murders which they should commit …
13.	For cutting off our Trade with all parts of the world:
14.	For imposing Taxes on us without our Consent:
15.	For depriving us … of the benefits of Trial by Jury:
16.	For transporting us beyond Seas to be tried for pretended offences:
17.	For … abolishing our most valuable Laws, and altering fundamentally the Forms of our Governments:
18.	He has abdicated Government here, by declaring us out of his Protection and waging War against us.
19.	He has … destroyed the lives of our people.
20.	He has excited domestic insurrections amongst us …

This is the picture quality for the MLB opener on Netflix. Someone please tell Netflix to stay in their lane. They clearly can't handle live events.

Students feel like they can’t enroll in majors like Af-Am Studies and WGSS because they’re getting messages from all sides that they’re not remunerative. And yet they desperately want the knowledge, so classes are full. That seems to be the situation everywhere.

This is indeed an important victory. The flip side is that so many institutions complied in advance, the directive achieved many of its aims.

BREAKING: The Department of Education has ended its directive that attempted to restrict diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts in schools nationwide.

This is a victory for academic freedom and education equity.

‘We have to keep showing up for each other’: In Minnesota, caregiving is a form of resistance School pickups, diaper runs and mutual aid funds are central to how many Minnesotans are challenging the militarization of their state.

I am usually a very behind the scenes person but I stepped outside of my comfort zone because I hope reading this will inspire other people just to step up and do the thing.

You never know what your impact can be.

After Donations, Trump Administration Revoked Rule Requiring More Nursing Home Staff

We seriously need to get every elected official to stand up to this abuse of power by Trump to line his pockets at the expense of decent care of our elders.

If you, like me, are taking care of aging parents & also rely on care services, know there's not enough help

Nurses saw themselves in Alex Pretti's death. Now they’re demanding justice. Nurses have advocated for better working conditions for years. Pretti’s death elevated the ongoing challenges for a profession that is increasingly in the crosshairs of immigration enforcement.

In Pretti’s final moments, Jean Stone saw a nurse.
To watch him come to the aid of a woman & reportedly askif she’s OK, “That’s something that a nurse says constantly in the process of a shift."
Now, nurses are protesting, holding vigils, saying his name at picket lines 19thnews.org/2026/01/nurs...

A care resistance

Now THERE'S an idea. I want to read about a care resistance. I want to think about a care resistance. I want to stop doom scrolling and join a care resistance.

Eighteenth century print, not colored, of soldiers on the right shooting toward a crowd, one man already on the ground. A version of Paul Revere's famous "Boston Massacre" print from the collections of the John Carter Brown Library that is offset so you see some images multiple times.

Almost 256 years ago, when British soldiers were occupying a city that was restless in their presence but still firmly part of the empire, a confrontation ended in the shooting death of five people, with 6 more wounded. This offset image of the Boston Massacre is so evocative. 1/

Photo from 3/30/2019. Head and shoulders photo of baseball player Cody Bellinger looking like a stoned guy thinking about something. He’s got close cropped dark hair and a struggle beard that mostly runs along his chin and then a mustache that doesn’t quite connect. He looks like your friend’s older brother’s cute friend who you bought pot from that one time.
