The layoffs at Marvel have me pissed. Wes is one of the best in the industry and has been deeply influential on concept art as a profession. He is not only a veteran of the MCU and Transformers films but also is the designer of the Iconic NCR Ranger design from Fallout New Vegas.

Can’t believe the news, Disney shutting down the marvel. vis dev department. This teams art made them billions and billions of dollars, but it seems that paying a handful or so of fulltime illustrators is simply too much to ask these days.
Here’s just ONE of the artists Marvel Studios let go today:
Wesley Burt, a brilliant veteran, one of the best in the industry. He made the viral Fantastic Four Valentine’s day card!
He was also pivotal for the look of many films and shows like for example Loki, Black Panther, Avengers and so on!

Sol Cesto had some of the best, most tasteful fantasy art to ever appear in a video game. It’s both frantically addictive and darkly atmospheric. I put 20 hours into early access and i’m excited to drop 40 more in Ver 1.0

Marathon is a special game
i’m this close to checking out dial of destiny which is crazy
The Heist scene in the N@zi camp to get into Voss’s office is a great example of this. The seemly way it goes from Nawal pitching you the heist plan into to you playing the plan then cutting back to her talking near the end. They wait just long enough for you forget that the narrative device exists👌
Well, my entire weekend became playing Indiana Jones and the great circle. It’s amazing how well it combines the cinematic language of the movies with the traditionally gamely (though simplified) immersive sim language of exploration and interactivity.
Running around the back rooms of the vatican is something I would want to do in real life. It’s a perfect fantasy for me personally. I’m also replaying the uncharted games right now which are great obviously but this is just so much better at giving you the feeling of being in an ancient place.
I know i’m like 15 months late but im finally getting back to playing Indiana Jones…. It’s so incredible. What an amazing romp. So immersive. The production value is out of this world in a way that was so surprising. The sheer amount of highly detailed unique assets is mind blowing.
I’m bad but if anybody wants to play Marathon let me know.
