3. Many people prefer to skip the test
A 2020 study by @gynuity.bsky.social found nearly half of the 678 participants would choose same-day pills without a pregnancy test—and 70% of those who didn’t want to be pregnant said the same. Many said that skipping the test would reduce stress and stigma.🧵
Happy #PublicationDay, @rebeccakelliher.bsky.social! 🎆
JUST PILLS, the radical history of the abortion pills from invention to distribution to today, “is essential reading for anyone who cares about the attacks on our bodies and freedoms.” — @jessicavalenti.bsky.social
A flat lay photo shows a Mifeprex (mifepristone) box with a single round white pill and a green pill bottle with several white hexagonal tablets spilled out on a light circular background. Text above reads “Missed period pills,” and text below says, “A safe and evidence-backed way to bring back your period.” The design uses bold white and pink text on a dark green background.
If your period is late & you don’t want to be pregnant, do you really have to wait for a positive pregnancy test before you can act? With missed period pills from carafem, you can take action to bring back your period & peace of mind by safely ending a potential early pregnancy.

The updated WHO List of Essential Medicines is available. For the first time, abortion medicines are presented in a new section &, in a positive move, the list no longer carries the caveat that singled out mifepristone & misoprostol as only to be used where legally permitted or culturally acceptable
This evaluation builds upon a study by @gynuity.bsky.social with @ppnorthcentral.bsky.social @pprockymountains.bsky.social, which suggests that providing medication abortion based only on a self-administered, programmed questionnaire is likely to be effective and safe gynuity.org/resources/ev...
A qualitative study examining patient experiences with asynchronous medication abortion care in the US found that care without real-time interaction with a physician is highly acceptable to patients, enabling them to avoid unnecessary care with providers www.sciencedirect.com/science/arti...
