Spencer huffs a little chuckle, nodding.

"We come across that too. They have a perception that we're threatening their authority and power in some way. Perceived impotency leads to... Well. Sore feelings to say the least."

"Unfortunately, huh?" Spencer hums with a little smile.

"Well, hopefully you'll be able to meet most of the team today."

"Ha! I tolerate it most days. Other days, I crave it."

He shrugs and sips from his own cup, one hand in his pocket.

"Are you being uh... Stationed here? I mean, in this building?"

Make sure you eat before taking them.

"I grew up in Las Vegas. I know exactly what you're talking about."
He's smiling a little as he steps into the break room.

"Nothing fancy, but..."

"Here, I'll come with. I could use a refill." Spencer gestures with his hand before leading the way to the break room.

"How are you liking the DC area?"

Spencer chuckles. "Through that door there. And that door leads to the Unit Chief's office, which I'm sure you're looking for as well."

"Well, that's not going to stop. But yes, I suppose you'll be dealing less with murder, and maybe more with people thinking we did something wrong during our investigations."

"What are you used to?" Spencer sips on a cup of coffee, looking this new person over.

"More often than you think, but I guess not too often."

Spencer smiles. "Ah! Well, it's good to be represented. Welcome aboard. Things will get out of hand."

Spencer clears his throat and shakes Price's hand. He's getting better at that.

"My reputation precedes me... ADA? Don't tell me we're getting sued again..."

"Can I help you?" Spencer was just walking by when he spies the new face.

Spencer sighs, head tipping back slightly. Will was a good thing. Spencer wanted to hold on tightly, but he was afraid Will would disappear all too soon.

Spencer rubs his fingertips against Will's scalp.

"Mm.. I guess we never would have met. Probably."

Spencer doesn't know what he'd be doing if Gideon hadn't found him.

"I considered leaving the BAU two years into my career. But I'm glad I stuck it out."

"Different in what way?"

Spencer finds petting through Will's hair to be soothing.

Oh, but that gets Spencer smiling. What a sweet thing to say.

"Is it... Strange to say that I don't know... Who I'd be or what I'd do without the BAU. I mean... I could teach. There's a lot of things I *could* do... "

Spencer looks into those lovely, big eyes of Will's, a hand coming up to cup his face, thumb stroking his cheek.

"The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few."

Mm. Comforting. Spencer ducks his head down to nose Will's hair, hand petting down the back of his neck.

"Exactly. We both try our best to help people. Our jobs come with risks, and we know that."

Spencer briefly thinks of Dilaudid. It had been an... Escape as much as it had been a prison.

"You're right. I know. You're right." He reaches to pet through Will's hair.

Spencer sighs. "Sometimes. But... My memory helps me save people. And... As much as I remember the bad stuff, I also remember the good stuff."
