Unbeatable: Drum's Not Dead by Liars, 20 Years On | The Quietus There were arses everywhere. Male and female arses alike, pale against the green paint of the metal fence that darkened with urine, or sticking out from behind swamped portaloos and food stalls, pissi...

Liars are the greatest US(ish) group of the C21st & it was a joy to write about Drum’s Not Dead for its 20th birthday, a record of beauty and violence that explores the mania of the human mind shifting between states of anxiety and creativity. On @thequietus.com:

Screenshot of a CNN segment shared by Acyn. A split-screen shows commentator Lydia Moynihan on the left and Kevin O’Leary on the right during a heated exchange. The chyron reads, “Obama: Dems need to avoid scolding and ‘virtue-signaling.’” The post quotes O’Leary referencing China and concentration camps, and McGowan responding about West Virginia.

I spent my childhood inside of American concentration camps. I know one when I see one. And that is what ICE is building.

Rev. Jesse Jackson's "I *am* somebody..." remains one of the all-time great pieces of 20th century rhetoric / agitprop

And he could deliver it at a Black separatist meeting, the Democratic National Convention, or on god-blessed Sesame Street (see below 🥹)

RIP to the Voice of the Voiceless

I haven't posted any recordings to NYCTaper in a while but this FACS show from Tubby's compelled me back into it. Check it out! www.nyctaper.com/2026/02/facs...

FACS at Tubby’s last night. Like Wire fronted by Mark E Smith, with Peter Hook on bass.

I did. Blank and affectless is a fair description. I'm surprised this won. Give Endling by Maria Reva a try. It was longlisted. I got more out of it than Flesh.

I'm listening to this now it's a revelation. It sounds like Lou continuing the Velvets with a new band.

I've discovered that it's a real thing that you hit your mid forties and all of the sudden you're really in Wilco.

Doom & Gloom From The Tomb SML - Music Hall of Williamsburg, Brooklyn, January 11, 2025 The LA-based jazz/improv/electronic collective SML put out their second LP earlier this year — How You Been. And lo, it was good. But it's....

An hour's worth of SML searching for the magic of the moment in Brooklyn earlier this year.

Here it is, the only Orcutt LP on Palilalia this year. Recorded at Cafe Oto, this one's a great memory for me — incredible night of solo sets by the quartet, drinking w friends and playing for an AMAZING audience. Very happy to share it w everybody now.

Explain to me how and why world peace wasn't achieved the moment The Killing Moon was released?

This looks promising. I didn't ever check them out until someone was paying forward some vinyl on the SF forums and I received some 12"s.

I don't like to speak badly of people. I have grown up thinking and being told that if you cannot say something nice about someone, you should not say anything at all. But I must break that rule in this case because I hate Hulk Hogan very much. He is a big ugly goon and I want to squash his face.

Hulk Hogan ratted out other wrestlers attempting to unionize to save his own position and paycheck above anyone else's & gladly accepted funding from Peter Thiel for his Gawker court case that paved frequently abused legal precedents for the rich to shut down any media outlets that embarrass them.
