The polls were way off in NJ. They predicted the winner but were way off on margin. I don't know why we wouldn't think that the errors could be in the other direction.

People are making it sound like you are advocating missing flights constantly. The question is whether you should allow a one percent or five percent risk of missing your flight.

But this goes to his original point-economic sentiment is *worse* now then it was during the wave of foreclosures and much worse than 2016-2020 when those were more recent.

Hundreds of thousands of people died. People were cut off from their friends and families. Absolutely deranged and self-centered to be nostalgic because you have social anxiety.

Just go after all of it- the lost jobs, the suicides, the CSAM, the dysfunction. Turn every AI CEO into Soros. These people are dislikable as hell. Say that you'll bring them to heel and get them under control. It doesn't have to make sense. The lane is wide open.

I have gotten into with people on here who would wax about how great the pandemic was for them because they could hang out at home and didn't have to socialize and get paid

There is a major opportunity for someone to run on anti AI populism if they are willing to eschew all the AI money floating around.

I think that these people square the circle with the idea that everything will run worse and that corporate America will just give everyone a crappy dysfunctional world in return for being able to fire everyone.

He bounced back significantly during his first term. His lowest approval was late 2017.

He bounced back from similar lows during his first term and nearly won reelection. His lowest approval was late 2017.

this model people have where approval gets steadily worse isn't really accurate. Lots of presidents have bad second or third years and bounced back.Biden hit his nadir around now (as low as Trump in average) and bounced back significantly.Reagan had a weak first two years and rebounded.

The world record is 12:35.

So two things.
1. This has more to do with Trump being really good at drawing out marginal right leaning voters than a drop-off in AA turnout .
2. I don't know what the lesson should be for this because other than change the constitution to let Obama run. We don't have a good sense of what 1/2

pulls out the marginal AA voters. We had an AA candidate in 2024. I know that people here believe that the masses are hungering for full throated leftism to draw them to the polls but I don't see that in any of the data.

I don't disagree exactly but I think that Democrats are going to want someone angrier.

I think that part of it was anxiety about asian economies but part of it was that in the popular imagination that kind of technology and gadgetry was associated with Asian companies.

There will be in 2028 candidates using antisemitism as the binding glue for left/right coalitions. You see the beginnings of it with Platner and his appeals to right wing antisemites. Fear of Trump is kind of holding it off for now but it will be open season come 2028.

I think that "harass" is vague enough that you'd have trouble proving that there is a false factual claim.

I both use AI and wish it hadn't come along because I think that it will take my job.

Also people are talking about this as if AI isn't already in widespread use everywhere.
