I wrote this 35 years ago today. No one who has ever lived has been given a greater gift than my children have been to me.

She didn't work corrections- she was a nurse at St. Jerome's hospital in Batavia, New York, the nearest trauma center to Attica- she work 3 24 hour shifts in a row. There were refrigerated morgue trailers set up in the parking lot. It was a very very dark time.

Thank you so much- she took care of both prisoners and guards during the Attica Prison riots.
She taught nursing until she was 73

Thank you so much- it's hard to imagine her death at 88 being a shock, but it absolutely was.

I just lost my 88 year old mother last week. She was still living by herself- got her RN at 16, her BSN at 47, and her MSN at 63.

What book would you give to a senior graduating from college?

1 year ago 1 0 1 0

Absolutely- I learn so much every time- not a musician, but as a teacher it's fascinating. Also the "inside baseball" way he has of talking at a very high level with his guest but out of enthusiasm.
