“And it’s 1, 2, 3 what’re we fighting for?”. Very sad that Country Joe McDonald died yesterday, but strangely appropriate. “… aint no time ro reason why, whoopee! We’re all gonna die.”

“We would be helping the Americans and Israelis in any way they saw appropriate”

“in ⚠️ANY⚠️ way ⚠️THEY⚠️ saw appropriate”

FFS. He wets his pants about an EU army and British sovereignty one minute. But would sign our troops up to god knows what, the next.

Tice is a weapons-grade moron.

Iran has a population of 90 million. All those calling for the UK to do more in attacking Iran, how many refugees facing persecution (thousands already) will they accept?

Like the original crusaders, wasn’t Blair also building his portfolio up before converting to Catholicism?

1 month ago 0 0 0 0

Blair is probably the best PM in my lifetime, but he threw it all away to go on a US crusade. That alone is enough for me to ignore anything he says on the new crusade, but he is also on the Trump payroll for the Peace Board and Gaza dismantling plan.

I think you mean “panicking immigrants” Ms Oakshott?

1 month ago 600 129 23 11

It’s almost like the whole panic over migration that seems to grip some political parties is entirely manufactured…

What? The Patrick Allen? He must have been quite old by then, but didn’t we only see his athletic back in that clip? I love the way they didn’t attempt to make wherever they were look like anything but the back of a film studio.

The real story here is that privatised grid owners have failed to maintain our power networks - this is not a net zero issue it’s the failure of private monopolies to run our vital national infrastructure properly.

‘If I’m in extreme pain, with no chance of a cure & if I’m getting no pleasure out of life…. then I have the perfect human right to end my life. I don’t want to go to some industrial estate in Switzerland. I’m a great believer & supporter of assisted dying in the UK’

A different shot, taken by an amateur standing on the photographer’s left. I wonder who?

I read a few years ago that there are no longer any botany degrees in the UK, only Plant Science. I guess that trad plant id and classification has given way to lab based DNA analysis as well.

Having said that, when I did Botany in the 70s, taxonomy was considered dull and too difficult.

I recall Idi Amin got rid of an awful lot where the Nile leaved Lake Victoria.

The American stat is more at fault than the BBC.

I agree with what you said. But could US lawyers disprove it whilst Trump operates doublethink law? The lines comparing him to Caligula were left in, perhaps assuming Team Trump has no idea who Caligula was.

Notable that your letter didn’t quote the censored, possibly sue-able line. The programme did still include the line that Trump is the American Caligula. Presumably, it’s safe to assume MAGA won’t know what this means.

First Donald Trump, then Joe Biden using the terms of the Trump ‘deal’, sold out Afghanistan to the Taliban. Most European govts think Trump is now selling out Ukraine in the same way — trading major concessions for a belief in Putin’s promises, and not caring very much anyway.
