I don't know 90% of what's going on at C*chella, but damn, NIN blew everyone away

"...The acquisition took place with Elektron already in a very stable economic position."
That is very good news for my favorite synth company.
Cool. NIN played a version of "Memorabilia," a Soft Cell cover that appeared on the "Closer to God" single. youtu.be/NlrpPqb0vwo
Surgeon - Reptile Mess
Surgeon- reptile mess!
Actually, I like this little game. Maybe you could make it a weekly thing.
I think I know Reaper, but I didn't have a good answer for this one.
There are some really good shock/gross-out moments, though.
Oof, I'm having touble enjoying it because it hits too close to home(lander).
Whoa!
So, what's all this about BOC??
It's hard to beat TDR's Nova dynamic EQ plugin, but ZL Audio's comes close. So many options.

Oh yeah, I found those, thanks.
I just wonder if that R-70 snare appeared on other Boss or Roland drum machine.
I seem to remember it being on my old DR-550, but I guess not. (None of the dr-550 sound packs have it, at least.)

Ok, I can buy NIN sampling Nightclubbing by Iggy Pop for the kick drum in Closer, but not the snare. The snare is clearly the R-70. (I really believe this sound appeared on other Boss/Roland gear, like the DR-550 MKII, which was my first drum machine...but I can't find any sample packs that have it)
One thing I do wrestle with is my perceived lack of "action" tracks; that is music including some semblance of a rhythm track.
I just don't want to force anything. If it sounds good, it doesn't need much else.
Simple, but effective music like this is such an inspiration for me.
I feel like, when I create, I focus in on one type of sound and rarely think I want to add more.
Didn't we hear that the main synth sound was an Arp Ody or similar? I forget
Thanks to IG, the sound from the alien scene from Annihilation (actually called "The Alien") has been so diluted that it's now called something generic, "cosmic horror" sound or something.
Anyway, despite that, it still gives me goosebumps youtu.be/Fuz4ZfMX2rk...
"taken by the undertow" - This one starts off a little aggressively, but (and?) it's one of my favorite off the album

Is it a regional thing? It's available for me, here in the US
Really starts off with a bang(er)!
Oh, I hope you didn't take that as a criticism of your description.
There's just no good way to describe many forms of "experimental music" because, by definition, it doesn't fit in any box.
The common thread I hear is top productions that sound cool, sound different, and are enjoyable to listen 2
Song still gets me www.youtube.com/watch?v=eLjj...
Evel is always putting out great, mind-expanding music. Experimental a lot of times, yes, but I feel that many of their releases are "grounded" in a way. There is something you can hold on to.
I've been doing some very spooky, hypnotic music lately.
I'll just capture a few seconds of something I'm doing, loop it ad infinitum, progressively adding FX or maybe tearing them down...I don't know, it sounds like soundtracky videogame stuff. Maybe I should approachh some devs
Oh! @claudeyoung.bsky.social has a track on this, as Brother From Another Planet. One of the best tracks.
Bringing back the memories. This got me through my early college days. Damn, I loved hard techno. I think JB3's "Close Grind" was my favorite back then
Beltram, The Advent, Hardfloor, Derrick May
