Glider App - App Store Download Glider by Soft Dorothy LLC on the App Store. See screenshots, ratings and reviews, user tips, and more apps like Glider.

I re-made Glider some years back for MacOS/iOS. It broke at some point (perhaps an Apple change for Retina displays?) so I pulled it from the App Store.

(Claude looked at the code—found some minor coordinate issues. Thanks!) Glider Classic for MacOS is back on.

Why Biden-era clean energy investment policies had limited political returns | PNAS The Biden Administration enacted the largest federal policy framework to incentivize clean energy and decarbonization in U.S. history. We examine w...

Fascinating new research paper asks: why did Biden receive so little political credit for his enormous investments in manufacturing? Turns out people give all the credit to governors (ironically, in this case, mostly red-state governors who were hostile to the policy!).

On a side note 136 billions would have made you the richest man on heart a couple years ago and now you almost don’t make the chart. It doesn’t make any sense. These growth numbers are a cancer diagnosis, without even considering the greediness

The local federal court received almost as many habeas petitions – asking judges to order the release of those unlawfully detained – in January as in the entire period from 2016 to 2024. More important, the federal judges in Minnesota are granting the petitions and people are coming home (though not without ICE obstructing and demeaning them at every step). But then ICE started transferring people out of state as quickly as possible, often within eight hours, thwarting the local habeas efforts. Every day now, chartered deportation flights leave from the Twin Cities airport carrying people with their hands and feet in shackles.

Observers report other adaptations. ICE have gone from wearing tactical army gear to Midwestern civilian garb; I have even seen photos of agents in keffiyehs. They have changed their cars and their licence plates: from out-of-state to in-state, to blotted plates or none at all. Meanwhile, Trump’s ‘border tsar’, Tom Homan, has replaced Greg Bovino as head of ICE operations in Minnesota, an attempt to dim the lights on what will be a violent march in either guise. ‘There’s no sanctuary from federal law enforcement,’ Homan has said.

To my knowledge, moving prisoners around the country in an attempt to avoid habeas corpus review has been banned since at least the Habeas Corpus Act of 1679. Habeas corpus is, of course, protected in Article 1 of the U.S. Constitution.

Gladys Mae West obituary: mathematician who pioneered GPS technology She made key contributions to US cold-war science despite facing huge barriers as a Black woman.

No joke: I got angry hate mail today for writing an obituary of a Black woman scientist—because the person felt she did didn’t deserve the recognition.

Which just makes me want to share it again: www.nature.com/articles/d41...

You know Alex Pretti & Renee Good—the 2 white people ICE killed.

ICE has also killed Keith Porter, a Black man, Parady La, a Cambodian man, & 5 Latinos—Heber Sanchaz Domínguez, Victor Manuel Diaz, Luis Beltran Yanez-Cruz, Luis Gustavo Nunez Caceres, and Geraldo Lunas Campos.

I came to Minneapolis to report on what's going on, and one of the main questions I showed up with is "just what is the scale of the resistance?" After all, we're all used to the news calling Portland a "war zone" or whatever when it's just some protests in one part of town.

My very strong suspicion is that the left/right axis and the fight/don't-fight axis are in the process of unlinking, and that the fight/don't-fight split is emerging as the core struggle in the Democratic Party.

Mamdani's Executive Order Number 1, as described in the post.

I was wondering what Mamdani's first executive order would be, and I'm not disappointed by this.

He has wiped off the books EVERY Eric Adams executive order issued on or after September 26, 2024, the day Adams was indicted on federal bribery charges.

Trump’s Tangled Web of Deal-Making, Policy and Riches The president, his family and some of their closest associates have engaged in a sprawling campaign of deals that stretches across industries and the globe.

Yes, it's good that The Times collates Trump's tangled grifts but, again, the #BrokenTimes fails to take the next step: Labeling it corruption to enable explanation of emoluments and illegality.
