Rosalina is strong in the movie and has powers, but she ends up losing to Bowser Jr... twice. Granted, her trying to protect her lumas is often the reason she loses her fights.

Peach is the same heroic figure she was in the first movie, though this time Luigi also gets to actually do stuff.

Rosalina is basically reduced to being a damsel in distress for the main characters to save. Fox appears in the 2nd half of the movie and is there for the remainder of it.

When you go to see Rosalina for the Mario Movie but you get Fox instead.✨
