For the morning crew, I was really happy to chat with @brianpjcronin.bsky.social for this piece about the fight in NY over whether we'll lean into a clean energy future.
And some of the tools NY hasn't yet pulled from their toolbox: virtual power plants and demand response.
With everything else going on, spend some time with the fact that yesterday, after the successful Trans Lunar Injection burn, the crew of Artemis II became the first humans to leave Earth orbit since 1972. They will travel further from Earth than anyone ever has. www.nasa.gov/blogs/missio...

When CCL Bozeman noticed a major lack of snow this season, they got creative with a public display of homemade snow people. Their efforts earned them a segment on two local TV channels!
Way to get crafty for climate change awareness 💪 #grassrootsclimate
Today is the final day for Early Bird registration of the @cclusa.org North East conference (5 hours left!). Prices go up +$20 tomorrow, so don't miss out!
Wonderful program, wonder folks.

Experts say Fervo Energy is one of the most promising climate tech companies out there.
It is "slated to open a 100-megawatt enhanced geothermal system next year," @heatmap.news reports.
CCL's Geothermal Action Team is hosting an event next week to hear from them!

Today's news lands heavily for all in the climate/public health space. Years of scientific work led to the #endangerment finding. Its repeal matters for emissions & trust in science. At @cclusa.org we remain focused on durable bipartisan solutions in Congress citizensclimatelobby.org/blog/news/ep...
America's aging power grid infrastructure is tested every time we experience intense weather events. Relying on fossil fuels just isn't a long-term strategy. 👎
Language from the PROVE IT Act was included in a funding package that is now law!
"It's like so many legislative accomplishments. It starts years before it's accomplished," Sen. Cramer told @eenews.bsky.social.
CCL is part of the story of those years... 🧵 subscriber.politicopro.com/article/eene...
Volunteers at the Citizens Climate Lobby booth in Minneapolis
Thank you Minnesota Citizens Climate Lobby for hosting a booth at this year's Great Northern Festival here in Minneapolis! @cclusa.org empowers every day people to drive climate solutions in Congress.
We can disagree on policy and still agree that violence that violates human life is unacceptable. What is happening in Minneapolis, especially this morning’s horrifying, senseless shooting crosses that line. For the sake of protecting life, dignity, safety and de-escalation, ICE needs to leave MN.
Major #carbonpricing news this month:
The EU has "fully implement[ed] a functioning border carbon adjustment policy."
In order to trade certain goods with Europe, "importers must now pay for the greenhouse gas emissions contained on their products."

NCAR is quite literally our global mothership.
Everyone who works in climate and weather has passed through its doors and benefited from its incredible resources.
Dismantling NCAR is like taking a sledgehammer to the keystone holding up our scientific understanding of the planet.
Unbelievable.
Thank you Senator @whitehouse.senate.gov for your climate leadership!
CCL applauds the reintroduction of the Clean Competition Act from @whitehouse.senate.gov & @repdelbene.bsky.social!
The bill "would give domestic companies a step up in the global marketplace while lowering emissions at home & abroad," Sen Whitehouse says.

Headline text: "Earth can't afford to lose its lobbying team in 2026." Button: "Donate Now." Photo of CCL volunteers waving from the steps of the U.S. Capitol. Progress meter on the bottom of the photo shows we have raised $1,143,690 of our $1,250,000 year-end fundraiser goal.
We are in the final days of our biggest fundraiser of the year, and your support right now will determine how strong we enter 2026. We’re currently $107,000 away from reaching our $1.25 million year-end goal, with only 2 days left to give.
Human-caused climate change is settled science.
Our grassroots volunteers will continue to lobby Congress for evidence-based climate solutions, no matter what the EPA's website says.
U.S. forests offset 12% of our annual climate pollution, with the potential to do even more. But with wildfires increasing, they need some help.
That's why we've worked hard to support the #FixOurForests Act this year!

Happy #GivingTuesday2025! There's so many important causes to give to today. In honor of our shared work at @cclusa.org I set up a fun fundraiser for climate friends as I train for the #AmericanBirkebeiner to help celebrate winter & support our ongoing advocacy

We've just kicked off today's program with an opening message from CCL Interim Executive Director Ricky Bradley and a fantastic keynote from @azevin.bsky.social!

Thanks to Peter Trapp from @crow.house.gov 's office for meeting with volunteers from @cclusa.org this morning. Thanks for sharing your insights on energy infrastructure permitting reform and forest policy.
Thanks to Shane Londagin, Ashton Knepell, and Megan Day from Senator John Hickenlooper's @hickenlooper.bsky.social office for meeting with @cclusa.org this morning. We appreciated hearing your insights on energy permitting reform and forest policy.
This week, I will be lobbying Congress along with 100's of other members of @cclusa.org to get more clean energy and transmission lines on the grid so we can accelerate away from fossil fuels. Give your Reps and Senators a call here to give us a boost.

Thanks Sarah in the office of Rep. Jenn McClellan for meeting with your @cclusa.org constituents!
Grateful to meet with staff from @replsimon.bsky.social office during @cclusa.org Lobby Week. Strong leadership on clean energy and wildfire resilience is essential for #CA12. #ClimateAction
Today I joined other volunteers from @cclusa.org for a lobby meeting with the office of @sarajacobs.house.gov. We had a chance to push for action on energy permitting reform. We also spoke in favor of passing the Fix Our Forests Act when when it comes back to the House.
Thank you @susielee.house.gov and staff for meeting with @cclusa.org volunteers yesterday to discuss legislation to protect forest health and speed clean energy permitting!
