For anyone who happened to be waiting for Oren's Forge to start back up on Webtoons, good news! It'll be back on Wednesday, scheduled to run episodically through the summer!

Then just work panel by panel, page by page, of scene by scene until that scene is done and in the can. Rinse and repeat! You'll only know by doing and it'll make more sense the more you do, but you will eventually find a rhythm. Best of luck! 5/5
You want thumbnails to be fast because they are the part of the art process where it's "cheapest" time-wise to make big changes. I'll then take the thumbnails and put them into a 'full sized' page template, stretch them to fit, mark out panel lines, & add the dialogue to make sure it all fits.. 4/5
..how much you can fit on a page, what your average panel-per-page count is, etc. (Somethings you just got to do before you know, which is another reason a prologue is nice.)
With a finished script, I thumbnail xx pages of whatever scene (I like to work by scene for consistency), looks like this 3/5
and it's much more of a pain to go back into finished pages and 'fix' a story issue rather than fix it in a word document.
My scripts are written in screenplay format (setting descriptions, dialogue and scene notes like character mood/reaction.)
For pacing, you eventually just get a sense for.. 2/5
My first suggestion is writing/illustrating a short ~10 page prologue to the main story you want to tackle. It will help you define your own process without getting bogged down by scale. I recommend scripting out as much as possible, because 3rd act problems are usually solved in the 1st act... 1/5
Yeah, I agree. What gets me is that most of the time, it seems like the drivers of these things are people who really just need a minivan but can't get over the stigma of minivans. Like, they probably need space and fuel efficacy on a daily basis rather than the ability to tow a small house.
Spent the evening making thumbnails/resizing pages/scheduling posts of Oren's Forge Vol 3 to Webtoons...
Figured I'd dust off the ComicFury account I have too and start the posting process there... the RUSH of JOY I felt when I clicked an 'edit page' and saw editable HTML/CSS, oh man. <3
From this pic, you can't really see the damage to my wife's RAV4 but the whole driver door is staved in (you have to enter/exit from passenger side), mirror evaporated & no longer road safe. All from a /low speed/ collision. Her *head* was level with the hood! These things are designed to kill ppl.

(It's me, I miss the fish.) I'm excited to see what you got cookin'!
If you want to try local, I've gotten prints with Yellowdog before and they were really nice to work worth, lots of options, close enough to pickup in person. (If the end goal is resale though, they might be too pricey for small runs but you can always inquire.)

Still in the DYI vein but there are various kinds of ice pack sheets that caterers use which might make the process easier, for example:

Thanks! :]
A midcentury lion! I still have some finishing up to do/decide how I want to clearcoat this one. I had wanted to do this one for MFF but ran out of time, however now I'm glad I waited. The original color design was in primaries but I like where this ended up more.
Nope, definitely do not want that. What about an edit button (with a history log) or something people actually want.
Even if your town doesn't have an official protest don't let it stop you if you're able/feel safe doing it. You are free to protest anytime on public land (and if you do, it helps others in your town feel safe to join either now or the next time.)
The national No Kings protest is tomorrow. Here's the site, which lists all the planned protests.

Go protest tomorrow!
If it's your first time, don't be intimidated. Protests typically feel like big block parties. Bring snacks, water and a friend or three and spend an hour or so. Walk, sit, chant if you want, leave whenever. Easy!
But being there matters. Making the effort matters.
Go protest tomorrow!
Just show up, be in the crowd, chant if you want. Your presence matters!
You don't need a sign but if you make one, it doesn't need to be photo-worthy or funny or life changing, it just needs to be honest (and legible maybe.)
Cardboard, a sharpie & an opinion is all you need!
Go protest tomorrow!
Altruistic Reason: Part of making changes in society begins with showing up as a visible coalition. As many, we are powerful. Go lend your power for a bit.
Selfish Reason : It feels very cathartic to roar w/ a crowd of people just as angry as you, like a pressure release.
I definitely think there is room to aid small businesses and/or individuals when it comes to understanding how to commission artists, what to expect etc.
That said, I think reworking/targeting slop thatβs already around is unnecessarily messy and youβd likely run into the worst kind of clients.

Oh wow Jenn, that looks really awesome! What a cool project!
