Network Account Management | Bluesky Accounts in the atproto network are app-neutral: a single account can be used for short posts, long-form blogging, events, and more. But until now, the best way for users to create and manage accounts...

here: bsky.social/account/sign... source is from this blog post from last year docs.bsky.app/blog/account...

i was thinking about it the other day and it made me very sad to admit:

canadian tech workers are paid less than US workers by US employers

canadian data governance is on par with US (which isn't great)

canadian labour laws (usually by province) is more US than EU

we are a big cheap talent pool

Windows Task Manager displaying a list of running services on a computer. The column headers
are "Name," "Status," "CPU," and "Memory." The first visible entry shows a system process named "ollama (2)" with
an associated usage of 49.6% CPU and 10,483.1 MB of Memory.

[Proposal] WG for group/community standards and infrastructure in ATProto TLDR: I’m proposing a working group to develop shared interoperable standards for community infrastructure within ATProto. Many teams are independently making foundational design decisions about group...

To all atproto devs interested in how communities take shape in the protocol:

I just put out a call for a working group to create standards for community interoperability in ATProto!

If you’re interested, read over it and leave a reply in the thread below:

got the rejection email this morning πŸ˜” ah well not super sad about it, they reached out to me. i at least know now that if im going to be interviewing seriously i need to get way better at the technical portions

actually now that i think about it i guess the only complaint would have been build times, everything else should have been possible with the app router unless something changed with next.js that i don't know about

6 days ago 2 0 1 0

i don't understand this bit though:

"SSR where it actually matters. Marketing pages, the changelog, careers. Pure client-side everywhere else, because we're not going to force server rendering on screens that don't benefit from it."

is this not possible with the app router? πŸ€”

they mentioned it briefly in the post:

"The App Router would have solved some of these problems, but it leans heavily into server-first patterns, and our product is intentionally client-driven. Adopting it would have meant rebuilding around a paradigm we don't need."

probably going to see more of these since ai can make the swap pretty easily. also it's crazy that 6 of the 10 minutes was just next.js building lol
