HIGHLY recommend this to anyone wanting to expand their critical understanding of epistemic injustice. I attended a preview lecture by Zara and learned so much, got great reading recs, sparkly patter, and a new framework!
10/10 would recommend ❤️

I won an Emma Goldman Award! Trans feminist scholar Dr Ruth Pearce honoured with prestigious Emma Goldman AwardScene Magazine In January, I received an unexpected message. And at first, I thought I was being scammed. Actually,…

I wrote a post about the extremely unexpected award I received recently, and the context in which I received it. From the stress, exhaustion, and overwhelm of academia, to the power and joy of social movements and coming together with other women.

Working on a powerpoint slide deck about abortion in NJ. I tried the "designer" option, and it suggested a background photo of an infant. This is definitely new and suggests some strong bias in the AI behind it.

Resist the temptation to address society-wide problems with individual solutions.

At best, they isolate and exhaust everyone who cares until many of them abandon the cause. At worst, they reinforce the very problem we wanted to solve.
