A bit of news! I have accepted a tenured position at Denison University. They recruited me to chair their Religion department, architect a rebuild of its curriculum, and help launch a Jewish studies program. I formally begin July 1st.
Truly honored to receive the 2025 J.P. Gumbert Dissertation Award alongside Jake Benson. Thank you to everyone who supported this research journey! #ManuscriptStudies #PhDLife
A hand writing with an apparatus that has two writing quills.
How to speed up writing before the computer age. This suggestion of writing with 2 quills came from a schoolmaster and was formulated in 1692 Nuremberg, Germany. #skystorians
Showing a class a watermark
Such a pleasure being able to guest lecture on "Watermarks, Where to Find Them and How to Use Them" @JTS Library last week.

YU copy with Ashkenazi additions
Harvard Copy with Ashkenazi additions
Printed in Pa'amon ve-Rimon, Amsterdam, 1704
From recent library trips, in Ashkenazi-owned, Pardes Rimonim (Krakow, 1591), I found these additions made in Harvard and YU copies. I then realized that I had seen these addition in the 1704 print Pa'amon ve-Rimon. Thus, the printer had used a similar tradition.
