Like the Epic Games Store only got gifting in November of last year. It launched in 2018.

Ballistic was a cool idea but it was clearly barely a prototype.

And all of this content churn clearly wasn't sustainable given what happened.

And I mean I get it; that's part of what made Fortnite itself so enjoyable - it was endlessly reinventing itself in ways that didn't run deep but they were fun and if you didn't like the current systems they'll be wiped away for another bunch in a few months.

But that's not a way to run a company.

Putting aside the extraction shooter stuff, that piece on Epic really paints the picture of a company who has decided that 'more and faster' is the path forward rather than deciding to do any part of what it does particularly well

The Quake 1 axe sound is just the Metal Hit sound from Korg M1, and the signature grenade bounce is in fact the same sound nearly 2 octaves lower.

Save 10% on ChainStaff on Steam ChainStaff is a brutal action-platformer with a transforming spear and grappling hook, blazing weapon upgrades, and a rocking soundtrack. Aliens have attached to your head! Swing, shoot, and spear your way through mutating hordes and bone-shaking boss fights, and get this thing off your head!

Hey folks, adding ChainStaff to my Steam Curator page with an extremely enthusiastic thumbs up! I'm a few hours into it and it's just an easy instant recommend, this positively SLAPS! It's one of the most visually lush games I've played recently, it looks like a playable vinyl album cover and it is!

decided to do #backloggdfridays too! i stopped grime cause it just wasn't doing it for me; the sequel is much, much better so far. reverse collapse is paused for a bit. under the island i finished, and it was very cute. quartet was fine, but not interesting enough for me to want to finish

Happy #BackloggdFriday! Post your last 4 games played.

i really enjoyed deadly days, but the sequel is much slower-paced so it's taking me longer to come around to it. feels like it's taken too much inspiration from slay the spire.

i've spoken about mario kart world recently, it's still great.

or like they're a couple but skeletor really wanted to go to the fancy brunch place and adam insisted on denny's because he wanted a grand slam and skeletor is mad about it but didn't want to fight

In 2004, anti-marriage amendments passed in ELEVEN states on the same night. California passed Prop 8 in 2008. If Singal had written this piece in 2005 using his own logic, he'd have concluded marriage equality was overreach that voters naturally rejected. Polling is not destiny.

OpenAI Backs Bill That Would Limit Liability for AI-Enabled Mass Deaths or Financial Disasters The ChatGPT-maker testified in favor of an Illinois bill that would limit when AI labs can be held liable—even in cases where their products cause “critical harm.”

OpenAI wants to be off the hook if its frontier AI models go rogue and cause 100+ deaths or more than $1 billion in financial damages. from @mzeff.bsky.social

These would be deplorable, inhumane conditions for any prison. The majority of these people have never been accused of a crime, much less convicted of one. Most, at worst, entered the country illegally seeking a better life. Some, not even that.
