Oh, I’m sorry. I trust that it will go well. Heart surgeries are amazingly well done and successful.
Erika made beautiful, very functional typewriters. I would happily write on one, especially a green.
We Baltimore people just called it (the hospital, not the U) The John.
Good for you!
Ah. I know that it has some uses in wellness, but I know it as a laboratory reagent.
What is he using it for?
Thank you, I did not know.
Well, they are pretty, but I prefer the ash trees. I am optimistic that ash will make a comeback with our help.
It is a complex history, but the critical understanding of the role of fossil fuel burning came with a series of discoveries beginning in 1856 with the work of Eunice Newton Foote and continuing until now. Keeling’s work was critically important and remains so today. This is a good summary:
Charles Keeling began his measurements in 1958. Without his work, we would have lost decades in understanding the global nature of climate change.
I read The Hobbit to each of my kids when they were 4, and they all loved it, but they were uninterested in LOTR until they were >11. This was Tolkien’s intent based on his own kids. I think the movies follow the pattern.
It is interesting to note that the editor for the PNAS paper is Ralph Keeling, who is now managing the Keeling Curve, begun by his father. Without the Keelings, we would not know enough about the CO2-climate connection.
👍
Ah, I missed that.
That’s very good news. I had a brain tumor a few years ago (benign but fatal until removed) and my balance has not fully recovered. I would like to know more about your treatment. I’ll follow up.
Suitable to star in a remake of Little Shop of Horrors.
I am currently doing an experiment by living without a car, but it is difficult. I’ll write about it soon.
It is both the best of times and the worst of times for science and scientists. I hope we can make a smooth transition back to where we were before the pro-death administration took over.
Oh, Maggie, I’m so sorry that you have been suffering. I hope that you continue to do well.
That’s really unfortunate. When I was a Baltimore kid, in a family with no car, we could walk to 3 shopping centers with various stores, including groceries. We could take the bus (or trolley!) to others.
Glorious. Thank you.
Two large black locust trees with horses in front.
Many of my clients are horse farm owners. I’ve never heard a single one express concern about black locust trees on their farms. Notice the second photo in my story.
One of our most spectacular trees, black locust, is beginning to flower. Learn more about this amazing tree.
One of my favorite forests.
Those flower colors are wonderful!
Two pawpaw flowers with purple petals, and small flies walking on the petals.
Good for you! I have several very productive pawpaws in my back yard and am always thrilled when they flower and again when they bear fruit.
I’ve never had frozen durian, though I have tried durian ice cream. I imagine that fresh durian is better than frozen.
I agree, but durian is much better.
Good!
