Brutal. Easily the hardest part of software startups in 2026 is navigating bricks and mortar and human bureaucracy

If we made the green energy transition this war would be unthinkable and these authoritarians wouldn’t be in power — not in the US, not in Iran, not in Saudi Arabia, not in Russia. Hydrocarbons are killing our freedom and just plain killing us.

“This Is Not The Computer For You” · Sam Henri Gold Sam Henri Gold is a product design engineer building playful, useful software.

Loved this essay from @samhenri.gold ❤️

This was me as a kid in the 90s sneaking time on my sister’s 486 until she gave it to me, installing Bryce3D and Doom and trying to make Visual Basic do something interesting

Now it’s my kid with GarageBand and Arduino

I think starting luxury and moving into mid market is a good playbook for a new car maker with high capex. If the R1S/R1T replaced ranger rovers and fancy pickups, the R2 can replace Volvos and BMWs (+ maybe CRV/Rav4). R3 can replace gas Corollas, Golfs and Crosstreks.

More EVs good
Love the pod ✌️

Leftism

Release the Pressure came up in a Sasha & Digweed mix this morning. So now I'm rediscovering Leftfield's incredible 1995 album Leftism. This had dropped off my radar some time in the 2000s and it's so nice to revisit

Teaching my son how to build and program hardware. He’s having so much fun. Presently working out melodies to program into his little piezo speaker circuit.

The @sparkfun.bsky.social inventor’s kit has been a great platform for teaching him.
