A proposed rule by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau could weaken protections against lending discrimination, jeopardizing access to credit, limiting programs for underserved borrowers, and widening racial and economic gaps.
"This administration has ground fair housing enforcement to a halt," states one letter, posted on DearAmericaletters.org. "Worse, they're picking and choosing which protected classes count."
