Local Consolidative Therapy Combo May Extend Survival in Stage IV NSCLC A single-arm phase 2 study assessed local consolidative therapy regimens in patients with oligometastatic stage IV non–small cell lung carcinoma.

Interesting news from Radiation Oncology—local consolidative therapy combined with systemic chemotherapy shows promise in extending survival for patients with stage IV non–small cell lung carcinoma with oligometastases. #lungcancer

FDA purges material on clinical trial diversity from its site, showing stakes of Trump DEI ban Following the Trump administration's DEI ban, the FDA's move to scrub webpages has ensnared many pages focused on ensuring diversity in drug trials.

This is so disturbing because different populations can respond differently to the same treatment. Ignorant broad implementations are not a solution. www.statnews.com/2025/01/23/f...

Lung cancer is still the top killer of both men and women estimated for 2025 by ACS. And the least funded for research. THIS NEEDS TO CHANGE!

It sure does! We need some new research strategies that are not just whack a mole but are less toxic and more durable. They need to find out how to block sclc transformation!

It really sucks after osimertinib stops working. I don’t care for any of the current options. Researchers need to find different strategies! QOL is everything!

Why is it taking the @fda.gov so long to approve subQ amivantamab? Many patients are having serious reactions to the IV form sending them to the ER and resulting in hospital stays despite being premedicated! #lcsm

Hope? It’s a harsh treatment for many. I wouldn’t want it.

Amivantamab can be a very nasty drug and would be a harsh reality for newly diagnosed pts.

Longitudinal Analyses of Circulating Tumor DNA for the Detection of EGFR Mutation-Positive Advanced NSCLC Progression During Treatment: Data From FLAURA and AURA3 EGFR tyrosine kinase inhibitor (EGFR-TKI)-sensitizing and -resistance mutations may be detected in plasma through circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA). Circulating tumor DNA level changes reflect alterations in tumor burden and could be a dynamic indicator of treatment effect. This analysis aimed to determine whether longitudinal EGFR-mutation ctDNA testing could detect progressive disease (PD) before radiologic detection.

Why aren’t more oncologists using MRD tests like Signatera or Guardant Reveal to proactively treat NSCLC before PD shows up on imaging especially in later treatment lines? www.jto.org/article/S155...

In the US, young and middle-aged women are being diagnosed with lung cancer at higher rates than men | CNN Susan Wojcicki, the late CEO of YouTube, had a message for the world just weeks before she passed away in August: “Lung cancer among people who have never smoked has been rising significantly.”

Young women are more at risk than men for lung cancer. Its past due for studies as to why. Congress needs to act on S 2245 and HR 4535.www.cnn.com/2024/11/25/health/lung-c...

Stanford University medical professor Dr. Bryant Lin was diagnosed with stage IV lung cancer despite never smoking. Now, he's using himself as a case study to teach students about patient care.
