Today in things that could only happen to me: I have a large jar of buttons (who doesn’t?). It was in my bag because I brought it to school for a project (totally normal.). I dropped my bag and spilled ALL the buttons (like, hundreds) in the grocery store parking lot. Yeah.
It should be standard operating procedure that when your kid has something gross and extremely contagious the pediatrician can just write you a prescription for the same thing. Signed, a mom with pinkeye who’s spent half her day on telehealth calls.
You will have a painful cut, burn, or blister on at least 60% of your fingers at any given time.
Your good scissors will always get stolen. Buy 4 pairs and hide them.
Don’t let the kids clean the paint brushes. Or if you do, clean them again.
The kids who are angriest at the beginning (“I can’t do this.” “This is stupid!”) are the most proud when they finish, and they almost always ask for more supplies so they can keep practicing.
The best lessons are kinda chaotic. That means the best days are kinda exhausting.
