Seems like Studio Cue is fairly new and wants to make a good impression. Even if Kill Blue only had 13 vols., I hope they're able to keep up the quality through the series & give it a good ending.

Got around to Gundam GQuuuuuuX was so exhilarated by what it does with old, established icons. The chaotic energy & ambition much more my speed than Witch From Mercury. So obviously the child of Evangelion, FLCL & even Gunbuster. It’s Across the Gundam-Verse, willing to be heretical & blasphemous.

The ramen bit kinda reminded me of Himmel's philosophy. He's tacitly acknowledging his intervention but he also doesn't want her to feel obligated. It's just classy stuff.

I agree. There's a lot of these kind of creative decisions that just really work well for me.

I don't know if I'll be able to meet sensei but I sure would like to try. 😭

post-SPEED RACER 4K IMAX thoughts:
--entire theater was full-- and my local does not fill up for anything that isn't A1 blockbuster rated. holy shit!!
--beautiful upscale. your eyes will be as big as saucers as you take in the set design and the wallpaper, spritle's PJs, etc.

The action design is also really fun and clever! In 1, the use of the chalk dust to cover his actions & grabbing the sharpener(?) to hit panda perv and in 2, using the push cart as vehicle, defense & offense! The direction captures it nicely which I appreciate.

Er, yeahhhh, he's technically a kid walking around w/ g0ogle glasses and a gun in his handbag but we are choosing not to _FOCUS_ on those things...

-protag who is technically a Badass Old Man Assassin Detective Conan'd & made to attend Middle School? I'm also charmed by him discovering a love for studying, something that actually addresses the ennui he felt in his profession. I really like the set up here!

Fujimaki-sensei wrote Robot x Laserbeam, a series about a stoic HS kid who started playing golf. I was really sad when it got cancelled because I loved his art & y'all know my weakness for dead-eyed but kind kids. So, guess who's THRILLED to have a show about an even younger-
