To instrumentalize what my sister is saying below: every time someone says DEI say “you mean civil rights?” Every time someone says they are against woke reply “oh so you’re a segregationist!” Words have meaning! Don’t allow that nonsense to stand.

I have no doubt the Columbus police were trying to kill Anita.

I had never known before this that cops would just take people and not transport them to jail immediately. This was a huge wake-up call for me and I knew the police were not good already.

You were gone four hours and I was freaking out because the jail kept saying they had no idea who or where you were. It wasn't until Disability Rights Ohio got involved that we got any answers and even then it took a while.

Those cops were hellacious! I was the only Black protester arrested that day. My wife, who’s white, told me that in their vehicle, they blared MAGA stuff from their radios. For some reason, I was the only one who ended up alone in a vehicle, which gave the cops the opportunity to mistreat me.

They drove recklessly, slinging me all over. They did this for an hour. I was surprised at how close the jail actually was, when I finally got there.

I was scared for A. She’s trans. As I was being taken away, I asked what would happen to her. Cops told me they were putting her with guys.

Those cops held me in that police vehicle for hours. I got sick. Had to demand to see EMTs. I was handcuffed behind my back.

Those cops then took me on the Freddy Gray ride to hell, trying to injure me purposely, like was done to kill Freddy Gray, a Black man killed in custody in Baltimore.

But everyone who was involved said Columbus police were next level terrifying. I would be surprised if they are involved with these Nazi groups.

It was incredibly scary. Disability Rights Ohio was involved and helped with the legal and also helped me track down Anita finally.

One of the protesters was trans and she faced horrific treatment and received threats to her body and safety while she was arrested.

One activist, @anitacameron.bsky.social went missing after she was arrested for a few hours. I was frantically trying to find where she was because she was not showing up at the jail. She can tell you all about the joyride the Columbus police officers took her on instead of going straight to jail.

Portman called the cops and a bunch of disabled people were thrown around and out of their wheelchairs by the Columbus police.

Due to my disability I couldn't go in person but I ran the phones, calling the press, handling social media, and trying to keep track of protesters as they were arrested.

Don't get me started about Columbus though. Their cops are terrifying and horrible. It was what? Maybe five years ago or so that we got ADAPT to come to Columbus to protest at Rob Portman's office.

Those Nazis targeted a LGBTQIA friendly area in Columbus specifically. Short North.

I was hosting auditions for my student film at the LGBTQIA center up the road from where this happened over a decade ago. I fear for all the terried LGBTQIA folks in the neighborhood.

Trump reportedly plans to swiftly eject trans troops within days of inauguration Trump’s actions could eject thousands of current trans service members

News has just broke that Trump plans to eject trans people from the military within days of inauguration.

Trans servicemembers who have served 19 years will lose their pensions and healthcare.

This is obscene. They served our country, and will be kicked to the side like trash.

1/ The right’s war on trans people isn’t about “protecting kids” or “fairness.” It’s about isolating, dehumanizing, and provoking—pushing until someone breaks. You do not, under any circumstances, have the hand it to them. 🧵

Nondisabled people and government have no right to determine what constitutes dignity and quality of life for disabled people.

Yesterday, I spoke with disabled youth at Atlantis Community. I enjoyed my talk, but was shocked that they didn’t know the long, vast history of the place they were in. They knew nothing of Wade and the Gang Of 19. I feel like I have to go there in person and teach them myself.

So the "fact check" that Facebook is appending to certain posts about project 2025 is from a right-wing article that often has literally nothing to do with the assertions in the post, and has no appeal or review process.

So that seems not so much a "fact check" as a weaponized disinformation vector

None of them will care until it's billions, not millions. If the penalty is a navigable fine, then it just becomes the cost of doing business.
