It may seem a strange subject for a pendant, but I love it! Nutmeg, the fragrant spice from Indonesia, is wrinkly and brown, but surprisingly pretty when you look closely.

This year I started a new series: botanical jewelry! Still puzzling out how I can best preserve the tiny colored pencil drawings. As soon as they’re ready for wearing I’ll put them in my webshop. 😍

In order to be accepted as an apiring member of the Dutch Botanical Association I had to draw three plants. I chose Eucalyptus, Hypericum and Tulip. Happy to say that I was admitted! 😄

Technique: colored pencil on paper.

In 2024 my partner-in-art Rob de Heer (robdeheer.nl) and me worked on a series inspired by artist W.O.J. Nieuwenkamp (1874-1950).

The exhibition of these works ended yesterday. I’m actually very happy to have them home again.

Technique: watercolor and colored pencil on paper.

As a botanical artist I especially love to draw the plants that are native to my country, The Netherlands. These four are examples of that: Harebell, Herb Robert, Wood violet and Daisy.

Technique: watercolor and colored pencil on paper.
