In Chungking Express, there is a snack bar with a lineup of sauces. Any good guesses on what the sauces are?

This is based on a real snack shop called Midnight Express in LKF in Hong Kong (closed in early 00s), with mixed Western/Indian offerings.

In China sometimes showers aren’t separated from the rest of the bathroom, for space reasons (and shower curtains often get moldy in the climate). This is a screen so that shower water doesn’t get on a smart toilet.

Mostly here because I periodically like catching up on the work of @michaelpettis.bsky.social, who (thankfully) posts here in addition to the bloated husk of X.

Possible I may post on BlueSky in the future, but I'm still mulling over whether these platforms are good for my brain or not :)
