Some local leaders disagree on how to define what an "American" company is.

For West Mifflin Mayor Chris Kelly, "American" means "the melting is going to be done by Americans."

For Pleasant Hills Councilmember Cheryl Freedman, "American" is owning 51%+ of the company.

President Trump, who said he has final say on a deal, first announced the partnership by saying U.S. Steel would remain in America, with U.S. Steel then coming out with a statement saying the company would remain "American."

NEW: Duquesne Light officials say they expect all of their customers will have their power back on by 11:30 on Tuesday night. That’s just over a week since the storm hit.

11 months ago 2 0 0 0

They expect it will take 5-7 days until everyone has power back, barring damage from further storms.

That's not to say people could get power back sooner. They are focused on critical infrastructure first.

If you are waiting on the Duquesne Light outage map to display an "estimated restoration time," know DLC doesn't expect to be able to post those until tomorrow in many cases.

They are still assessing the damage, and still will be tomorrow, they just shared.

"A lot ot of people, from what we're hearing, were just loosely vetted and that they were undercutting American workers," said Ashley Duff, chair of the Washington County Republican Party.

Most of the immigrants in Charleroi are there legally under what's called a "Temporary Protected Status" designation, per the lawyer we spoke to.

Many immigrants expected it would be extended past its Feb '26 expiration date, as it has before, he said. Now, it ends in August.

An executive order that revokes the legal status of a half-million people from Haiti and Latin America could have a significant impact on the Washington County community of Charleroi, where the majority of the city's roughly 1,000 immigrants are from Haiti.

The same group tried to “cause trouble” inside a smoke shop on Liberty Ave. The owner ran them out, police said.

We spoke to an employee at the shop who said the kids were throwing PRT bus schedules around.

You may have seen unverified police scanner reports about a group of kids Saturday night in downtown Pittsburgh.

KDKA-TV asked a Pittsburgh Police spokesperson what happened.

They said a “group of juveniles” took a bunch of PRT pamphlets from Wood Street Station and threw them into the street.

I've done so many stories on U.S. Steel this past year that tonight when watching CNN, when someone said... "U.S"... my brain autocompleted it to "U.S. Steel."

The story was not about U.S. Steel.
