Do you remember when we condemned war crimes as a society?

I think all the people who ever thought billionaires would be good in government because they are allegedly good at running a business should sit and think about what they've done and perpetuated. Governments should not be for profit ventures with investors able to buy and sell people's lives.
It would be nice if this was all just a nightmare and we could all collectively wake up...
Why does it feel like a bunch of washed up actors are MAGA supporters?
A black and white illustration of a pregnant woman sitting on a chair. Another woman is supporting her from behind, while a second woman is sitting in front of her, ready to help deliver the baby.
For centuries, a “gossip” was a woman who attended another woman's delivery. The word was a corruption of “god-sib” or “god-sibling,” meaning “sister in the Lord.” The gossips offered support to mother and midwife. Only later did the term take on a derogatory meaning.
Lord grant me, for just one day, the zero fuck level of a capybara in danger of becoming pelican brunch.

Another book rec! This was awesome, hats off to the author. There are unreliable narrators and twists that actually made me gasp outloud. It looks like a longer read but I finished it in a few hours as it is written entirely in emails, messages and pieces of essays. (Epistolary?) #booksky #bookrec
I cannot recommend this book more. Especially in today's political climate. The author switches narrators beautifully, truly absolutely fantastic. Kristen Miller is a genius! #booksky #recommendation #bannedbooks
Today is the 20-year anniversary of my father's death. Also in February is his birthday, my birthday, and the birthday of my nephew, who he never got to meet. Tragedy and celebration all rolled into one, not to mention the countless other events. And yet life continues on. I miss you always Dad.
So I've just started reading this book, and I can already tell I'm in for a wild ride. Good or bad? Too early to tell.

why do y'all spend 3 hours customizing your character's face when you know you're gonna equip the first helmet you find??
Remember that trend, "Can we skip to the good part?" When's the GOOD PART?! It's been years!
The Humans by Matt Haig, it's an alien's perspective of Earth, and The 100 Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out The Window And Disappeared by Jonas Jonasson, which is hard to explain lol.
It's amazing how someone can sternly condemn Trump, yet praise Poilievre. Absolutely mind-boggling. #canadianpolitics #wtf #Trump #Poilievre
"One of the great tragedies of mankind is that morality has been hijacked by religion. So now people assume that religion and morality have a necessary connection. But the basis of morality is really very simple and doesn't require religion at all."

“I have too many books”
-judgemental
-boring
-implies impulse-control issues
“The books... they have me.”
