It's wild to be living in the 2020s and dealing with anti-science hacks in positions of authority, while reading books written in the 1920s* that are like "medical science is good, actually; let's celebrate it."

We seemed to do fine with an 11 week patch cadence in Legion (and I thought even that was a bit too fast); I'm not sure why they decided on 8 weeks in an expac where they've already bitten off a lot (housing and the addon-pocalypse).
My man Aethas has been having a rough time since Dalaran, let him cope however he needs to.
(I'm still pissed the Kirin Tor just...left him on the beach near the ruins and no one so much as brought him a sandwich and a blanket so he could nap. Monsters.)
I was once twenty pages into a story and started calling a character by a completely different name and didn't notice.
She was the MC's best frenemy and second in command so she was kind of important.
I would give up all my hero talents and EVEN MY BELOVED SECOND PET for beast mastery hunter to go back to the way it played in MoP.
Even the best AI systems have only been able to replace 3% of labor. THREE PERCENT. Companies are laying off people, setting their companies on fire with AI, and then rehiring from overseas.
AI isn't taking jobs. Exploited workers in other countries are, because humans are better than AI.

I've seen clips from that video; dude wanted to say the R-slur so bad.
To be clear, I'm very happy for raiders that Blizz are apparently experimenting with a flex-size mythic raid difficulty.
I just don't think that "creating more mid-core and hard-core players" (per Bellular) is nearly as important as those people who think raiding is all that matters think it is.
"The firm provided a ledger of the errors, which spanned three pages and totaled around three dozen. A number of them involved the citation of seemingly imagined passages from real cases."

He's a liar and a killer. I don't know what else to tell people, he's a rich eugenicist, he wants as many poor people as possible to die in the name of 'health.' He's a genuinely and uniquely malign figure in American life and his appointment was an act of violence
Erle Stanley Gardner was dictating his novels so fast that he hired multiple typists to transcribe the recordings. It's like these people have never even heard of the glory days of pulp.
I love that Mayor Mamdani's revolutionary approach is doing the actual job of mayor while being nice to constituents. This is replicable in other cities.
As a medievalist, I love this:
Depending on the length of the novel, that's like...500 words a day.
1000 words a day if you figure the edit took as long as the initial draft.
*I* could write a novel in 7 months if I stuck with it, and I'm not particularly fast.
That is a poorly structured sentence; it looks like there were two different versions badly combined.
I do that sort of thing all the time, but someone should have caught it before it went live.
I do think tech companies are underestimating the amount of
- new account fatigue
- new app fatigue
- useless upgrade fatigue
- terms of service fatigue
The real failure to look in the mirror is academics falling back on comfortable “we’re partly responsible because we enforced left wing orthodoxy“ thinking rather than the less comfortable truth that Trump/MAGA are bad faith actors who will only be satisfied with resegregated MAGA academies
"Man and boys are not humans with human emotions" is a wild fucking take, even when you take into consideration how hard our society tries to socialize boys into not having human emotions.
The show always tried to frame Ookla as the dumb "animal", but I'm pretty sure we all know which of the trio needed a keeper.
Pendants with silver wirework spiral, central faceted crystal bead, and matching dangling bead. Purple, blue, green.
The blue is already in its new home, but purple and green are still up for grabs!

I would give so much for a proper Thundarr the Barbarian reboot.
Broll Bearmantle, for being my druid's bodyguard in Legion.

Blizzard really needs to stop rushing their entire expac story into the launch patch so they can...do half-assed side plots for the rest of the expansion.
They haven't successfully built a story across patches since MoP and Legion. Everything since is patchwork and wasted potential.
It me 🥰
In my perfect universe they'd use WoD Remix to give us the cut content we should have gotten in WoD.
I have never forgotten the fungal whale.
Gay surrogacy and gay adoption are predicated on the idea that gay men (or women) have a “right” to become parents. This idea is not only morally insane but also logically incoherent. It’s exactly like jumping off a building and claiming that you have the right to fly. Nobody has the right to defy the laws of nature. Where would such a right even originate? Two men cannot be parents. It’s impossible. Doesn’t matter how they feel or what they want. It cannot be. The only “right” at issue here is the right of the child. And the child has a right to be raised by a mother and a father, not two men masquerading as mother and father.
Great work to all the transphobic pickme gays because you're next on the menu
Many on the right say “feminism makes women hate men”.
I don’t think women hate men.
I think a lot of women fear men.
And men ask “why”?
A “rape academy” website teaching men how to sexually assault women, containing graphic video of actual rape, received 62 million views.
That’s why.
Stop buying the claim that Trump is obsessed with 2020; we already have eyewitnesses who say he knows he lost.
What he *is* obsessed with is (a) the narrative of 2020, and *far* more importantly (b) how that election can be leveraged to steal 2026 and 2028 and end our democracy.
