Electoral College cartogram showing which states are in the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact and which ones could join in time for it to activate by 2028. Each state is sized and labeled according to its number of electoral votes. The states are spaced out enough to accommodate the changes in size but retain their general shapes and relative positions on the map. Current members are in solid orange, potential members are in light green, and nonmembers that are unlikely to join are in medium gray. Members have 222 electoral votes, potential states have 68, and the unlikely states have 248. The compact would only activate once states with at least 270 electoral votes have joined. The seven potential members and their electoral vote are Alaska (3), Arizona (11), Michigan (15), Nevada (6), New Hampshire (4), Pennsylvania (19), and Wisconsin (10). Democrats would need to gain the governor's office and/or legislative chambers to win unified power in these states, as detailed in the spreadsheet linked in this post.
NEW: Virginia just passed a law to join the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact, giving it 222 of 270 electoral votes needed to activate.
This map and spreadsheet show which states could join to activate it by 2028 depending on the outcome of the 2026 elections docs.google.com/spreadsheets...

It's no coincidence that Apple is closing a location that is unionized.

NOW: B52 bombers are literally in the air on their way to Iran and hundreds of thousands of Iranians are in the streets waving flags and surrounding bridges & power plants.
Difficult to imagine this has any precedent in modern warfare.

I gave one the sieg heil about a year ago and the wife in the passenger seat looked shocked and horrified. Hopefully the shame is working.

He was so loyal to Nixon, Pam...
Pete Hegseth removed 4 decorated Army officers—2 Black, 2 women—from a promotion list. The Army Secretary refused, calling their records exemplary. Hegseth overrode it. Possibly illegally. They gave decades to this country. He erased them & called it meritocracy.
This is white Christian nationalism.
The House can do what they want tomorrow, but they ain’t getting Cancun Cruz back in the Senate anytime soon.
2 to 4 million is a lot of executions. But there's no genocide here. No, of course not. Nothing to see here.
I hope he suffers for a long time with his choices
His entire presidency is about giving people permission to be their worst selves.
Remainder that hating AI and refusing to use it does not mean that you're anti-technology. It means that you oppose shitty tech fads that only harm humanity and make sleazy billionaires even richer.
The cryptocurrency industry super PACs dumped $14.2 million into the Illinois primaries. 90% of that – $12.8 million – was wasted, in that it went to opposing Democratic candidates who won their primaries (Stratton in the Senate race, Ford in H-07) or supporting their opponents.
Out here harassing folks as a "Rubina Stan" in the year of our Lord two thousand and twenty-six. Come on. #bbsky

Trump officials need to go to jail over this and similar Crimes Against Humanity.
Stephen Miller, in particular, should be imprisoned for decades and possibly for life.
NYT:
Just so we’re 1000% clear: no state or local government should be giving financial incentives to build a data center. If anything, it should come with increased taxation—because wherever they go, they gobble up water and energy. They should be paying locals for the privilege of being tolerated.
