Next year will be the 20th anniversary of Under The Iron Sea…so we thought this Christmas seems like the perfect way to remind everyone of Sanna Annukka’s incredible artwork for the album.

The Iron Sea Advent Calendar and limited edition keepsakes.

Making Wolf at the Door was our first experience of working with a proper producer (Mark Wallis) in a fancy studio (Soho Studios on Torrington Place). We definitely had no idea what we were doing but it was very exciting.

I seem to remember that my life was very chaotic at the time and I arrived feeling a bit jaded and anxious. By the time we wrapped, my mood had been totally uplifted by the sense of fun and community that everyone brought to the day.

I love that the video was such a celebration of those things, encapsulated in the performances of local clubs and groups on a seafront so familiar to us.

Sovereign Light Cafe is one of my favourite Keane songs - an ode to small town life and how you can drift so far from formative places, people and memories.

To see the creativity and passions of so many people from the area we grew up in was really wonderful, and captures the mood of the song beautifully.

Video shoots can be long, trying days, but this felt different from the off. When I arrived the crew were filming shots of the horse galloping along the beach, and it immediately felt really special.

. I asked the owner if he had a fairly rare record in stock and he said that he didn’t but he wrote down the request and my details in a little note book and told me that he’d let me know if a copy came in. That was thirteen years ago. I wonder if I’ll get the call one day.

Making the Sovereign Light Cafe video was a really fun day. There was such a beautiful mix of people joining in with their diverse skills. One memory that jumps out is that I went into a great record shop there called Second Spin

It left us with a strong sense of hope, and resulted in some beautiful images of togetherness, quirkiness, fun and love.

And most of all, you could feel the overwhelming sense of community and the warmth of the people who came out to watch the video being made, and to help and participate.

It was powerful to be back there in the context of such an emotional song. It was really inspiring - and entertaining - to see the many groups of hobbyists doing their thing.

Bexhill featured prominently in our childhoods. My parents would always drag me and my brother down there to burn off some energy on a Sunday afternoon. Richard and I were both into making model aeroplanes as kids, and there was a really good model shop on the high street.

25 years later it's time to let them see the light of day again. I love hearing this little part of the journey from a present-day perspective and we all hope you will too.
