reaction of butadiene+isoprene mixtures with CO2 leads to lactones that, upon conjugate reduction, can undergo ROP to make CO2-derived copolymers. One of the heterotelomere isomers, EVMeP, inhibits polymerization through formation of a tertiary alkoxide chain end.
Congrats to Ryan and Takuya on publishing their work on the synthesis & ROP of lactones made from cotelomerization isoprene/butadiene w/CO2! This is part of an upcoming Faraday Discussion on polymerisation and depolymerisation in Fall, so here's the chemrxiv in the meantime! doi.org/10.26434/che...
Kathy is all ready at the @acspoly.bsky.social booth! Come visit the booth to collect some stuff and get to know about the division’s activities!!

Excited to share that my colleagues and I are organizing the Early Career Investigators in Bioinorganic Chemistry symposium at ACS Fall 2025. Mark your calendars for August 20 and join us for an exciting lineup of talks!
Abstract Submission Deadline: March 31st, 2025
Wow!
Our grad student Sunipa will be presenting her research on Cu-directed oxidations at the GRS and GRC Metals in Biology this week. She will be finishing up her PhD this year and she is looking for postdoctoral positions. Don't miss out fellow bioinorganic chemists!!! 😊
