Too many people in America fail to realize how much influence he has in the world and over people within Trumps administration.

He could really take one for the team here and just be the Bubba we need.

It would change his entire legacy.

Are teacher's unions getting involved in resisting these ICE raids yet?

General strikes aren't going to do much.

Rolling teachers strikes are much more effective. It's like spraying wrenches in the machine.

If you're willing to sacrifice the rights of others, you've already sacrificed your own

Pretend there’s a war on (there isn’t).

Pretend drug traffickers are terrorists (they’re not).

Pretend overdoses are armed foreign attacks (they’re not).

Pretend “the president says so” means Congress has no role (it doesn’t).

Voila, legal. When factual reality is irrelevant, any law can apply.

I read this as "we're stoned, Now let's eat." I was very confused, but also, the sentence still made sense.

Glad it was atoned. Post atonement Food is probably better than doritos & slim jims.

This is true. I grew up in Dearborn. It's really not any different or disruptive than church bells. I went to a Christian church & no one in the church seemed to care. We had events w the Muslim community. It wasn't an issue until Fox News started telling Rs & Christians to care.

As Our Generals and Admirals Fly Home, Our Adversaries Watch and Wait Couldn’t Hegseth’s in-person meeting of all flag officers have been a secure conference call?

The SecDef wants all service commanders and their senior enlisted advisors to come to Quantico on short notice. It’s difficult to understand why.

The allegations of "public-private speech policing" are **made-up!**

What would have been "healthy" is for Douthat and friends to have called it out as BS when a bunch of us had our lives turned upside down based on lies.

Their inability to do so provided the pretext for this current 1A assault.

All networks includes Disney

In addition to poor product, it would still create a several month delay in new content. They're already losing to shows on streaming platforms. They can't afford any drop in viewers.

Add in the actors' guilds & they'd have to cave or be putting out content on par w access television.

The pressure shouldn't be on Disney. It should be on the writers and actors unions. That would impact all networks which would create solidarity across the media landscape against the Trump admin.

Charlie Kirk opposed free speech but the media won’t tell you that The mainstream media venerated Charlie Kirk as a martyr of free speech following his assassination on September 10.

On the Assassination of Charlie Kirk I mourn his murder, but I do not mourn the way he practiced politics.

“Words…are not value neutral. They can be kinetic, and they can inspire others to act. That act might look like a hateful tweet, a threatening phone call, doxxing a target, harassing their family, or worse. That is not debate. That is the active silencing of it.” open.substack.com/pub/wicziped...

The difference between Alligator Auschwitz & Auschwitz is at Auschwitz the Jews could actually move around the confines. In Trumps internment camps they're caged into their bunks.

I really enjoyed & learned a lot from this book. I was reading this when Charlottesville happened. Perfect foundation for everything I've read since related to extremism. Also connects really well to books about the rise of fascism & communism in early 1900s.

Right wing "reasoning" has impacted people's thinking even outside of politics. They reason in repetition, whataboutisms, and the shifting sand compartmentalizations described in the 2nd half of 1984. It's starting to become very noticeable in people's mental health & rotting their relationships

If you call every fact-based criticism "deranged," and say it's coming from "sick people," the problem is you.

How long until more of the media and the public grasp that calling so many things "deranged" is a sign of derangement?
