Corporate Dems would rather embrace antidemocratic figures and grant them legitimacy than to partner with leftists who want to make needed reform. Itโs been obvious for a long time and anyone who doesnโt see it at this point is willfully ignoring it.

if you see anyone fall for this you should discard their opinions on basically anything else immediately
So much of Silicon Valley has reached the conclusion that there is money to be made from American authoritarianism, writes Dave Karpf. With its โmanifesto,โ Palantir wants to remind you that it reached that conclusion first, he says.
Colour photo of a rocky shoreline and a single person in silhouette, the branches of a tree peeking out of the top left corner in front of a blazing sun low in the sky. The ocean waters are calm, and some gently rolling mountains are seen in the distance. The sky is a dusky blue and clouds are smeared across the back third over the mountains, slightly iridescent and tinted with orange and blue and grey.

That's it? $6.1B in eight years? We gave Ukraine $25B in four and didn't even get daily mail out of it.
Sometimes the callout blazes like a white hot sun.
The freedom to not drive.
there is literally one proven policy to reduce traffic congestion long-term.
itโs congestion pricing. and Trump just spent a whole year trying to illegally scrap it in New York City

Tim Cook donated $1M to Trumpโs inauguration.
He fawned over Trump and gifted him a 24-karat gold plaque (as Apple lobbied for tariff exemptions).
Apple donated to Trumpโs White House ballroom.
And it removed ICE tracking apps from its stores following a demand from the DOJ.
Remember this.
โOf course, *your* car trip is essential.
And your trip would be so much better if the driver in front had gone by bike or bus instead.
Letโs make that an easy choice for them, so the streets are clear for your essential car trips.โ
Say what you will about the worst members of the Roberts Court, but they all make sure their wives are in on the grift.
Jane Roberts, Martha Alito and Ginni Thomas are equal partners with their husbands in the grand project of destroying the United States and enriching themselves in the process.
This has been in the works for a while but Ternus is a hardware guy and their hardware has been their strongest suit for the last few years. Very smart choice instead of some AI freak.
i don't think i've seen a single person say this is anything but the best possible internal hire they could have gone with
I used a bike rack this weekend that exists because I complained about it not existing.
You can make things better, even just a little.
it still baffles me that it takes longer than the entire space race to the moon to paint a bus lane and build bike lane mostly out of flex posts in seattle

A tweet from Pope Leo XIV that reads: โWhen simulation becomes the norm, it weakens the human capacity for discernment. As a result, our social bonds close in upon themselves, forming self-referential circuits that no longer expose us to reality. We thus come to live within bubbles, impermeable to one another. Feeling threatened by anyone who is different, we grow unaccustomed to encounter and dialogue. In this way, polarization, conflict, fear and violence spread. What is at stake is not merely the risk of error, but a transformation in our very relationship with truth.โ
Apparently the Pope has read Baudrillard.
"We choose a gondola to SFU not because it is easy, but because it is hard; because that goal will serve to organize and measure the best of our energies and skills, because that challenge is one that we are willing to accept, one we are unwilling to postpone, and one we intend to win."

Just a warning for those of you who are Starbucks customers in Vinnie Square. The police are ticketing people that park in the fire lane to run in and get their coffee. Theyโve been added all week so take heed. I thought you could park in a fire lane. If youโre in the vehicle in the driver seat, but he made me move.
Drivers always get so annoyed when they face the smallest amount of pushback on their entitlement
Look, for my money the absolute game changer technologies right now are batteries and biosciences, not statistically modeling a mid conversation, but you do you.
Every AI commercial is like "Hey AI, what goes good on a sandwich?" and then the AI is like "Have you considered... cheese?" And then the narrator is like: THE FUTURE IS HERE.

FSD Tesla's are suddenly legal in the Netherlands and Autoweek (Car weekly) took it for a test drive to Amsterdam. it stopped for traffic lights on a highway that were turned off and it got a 130โฌ ticket for choosing a bicycle street in Amsterdam
Iโll venture likely not without re-learning. Until the last decade we largely lost the engineering knowledge of how to travel to the moon, and much of the past decade has been recovering that. In that sense not lost so much as inactive knowledge.
A grid photo of 16 different characters all played by the legend Tim Curry.
Tim Curry, the absolute legend, turns 80 today. This man took huge swings.
