Thanks, Johnny!🙂🎶👍
I'm doing the same. My list isn't my favorite songs. It's favorite piano/synth parts in songs I like.
I hear you! I top out at two songs per artist if I can't choose between my favorite songs of theirs.
Both are great choices. Had you not posted this one, I'd be worried.😄
You can always use a second a-ha song. I've done two for Tom Waits and am doubling another artist before the end of the month.
I may post an unusual choice. If I do, I'll wonder what you think. It connects two of your favs.
Yes!😄
I was waiting for you to post this one. Love it!🙂

Day 22:
Belle and Sebastian: "Dress Up in You" (2006)

You're welcome, Johnny!👍
Tonight! I'm happy for you! Wishing you the best experience. Safe to say Byrne will deliver a dynamic performance. Seeing both Byrne & Belew in quick succession is quite the stroke of luck.
It's amazing. I found this album in my older brother's record collection when I was a kid. I didn't quite get it then, but same brother bought "Stop Making Sense" on VHS several years later and then everything made sense.
Central Park. Now that's a venue! Some great memories made for you. Can't say I'm not a bit envious.🙂I'm glad you got to see them.
Thanks, Lady Iris. I loved your Zeppelin pick, too! 🙂
Lucky you! Closest I ever got was a VHS tape and Youtube clips. They must've been special to experience live.
🙂👍
Thanks so much, Le Chat Noir!🙂
Insanely good!
Love the pick, Johnny! Using sitar increased the song's style points by a factor of ten, & gave it an attitude.
Very cool!👍 Am I correct that you've posted Camper Van Beethoven music before? I don't know a lot about them, but feel like we discussed them.

Day 22: A song with non-western harmonic ideas
Brian Eno introduced Talking Heads to the Afrobeat musical innovations of Fela Kuti. Kuti's influence is prominent below. Let's pretend I didn't look this up.
"Born Under Punches" (1980)

An almost daily catchphrase, quote, or meme to inspire or entertain you:
"Now I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds." — J. Robert Oppenheimer ("Oppenheimer", 2023)
Alphaville: "Forever Young"

You're welcome, Heidi! 🙂
I believe we collected 3 of 4 glasses, but I forget which one we didn't have (either Vader or the droids). Two of our three collectibles are long gone. Lando glass is currently in my kitchen cupboard. Dusty, I imagine. It hasn't seen liquid or the inside of a dishwasher since around '83.
We can only hope. He must have a treasure trove of unreleased material. I'd love something new.
I took a quick look before posting. Coincidentally, Waits debuted a very recent song collaboration with Massive Attack. He's staying active. 🙂
Thanks, Johnny!🎸🎶🙂
Yes! I mentioned this in my original post, but deleted before posting. The video is a double-dose of nostalgia. You get your 80s memories, along with a secondary vicarious nostalgia via the era depicted in the video itself. My brother bought the single in '83 and my Mom & I fell in love with it.
Thanks, Heidi! 🙂
No living under a rock required.😄I was often fanatical about Taylor's bass playing, so I knew this term applied to his style. I'd *never* have thought of CCR for syncopation.🪨 Great choice on your part!
Love the video! It's almost as essential as the song. Heavy nostalgia experience for me.
