Minesweeper, right?

There has been a bit of drama at The Document Foundation, the org behind LibreOffice, that has been brewing for some time -- but became public when TDF ejected 30 members employed by Collabora. I dug into it, in detail, over on LWN. #TDF #LibreOffice #OpenSource

Republicans, for their part, have cast the push for a new map as a Democratic power grab. “Richmond liberals want to eliminate competitive elections in Virginia,” says an ad from Virginians for Fair Maps, the main Republican-aligned outside group in Virginia.
A more correct way to write this is: "Republicans, who famously love gerrymandering in every other case, are flooding Democratic and Black voters' phones and mailboxes with ratfucking mailers and texts falsely claiming that Obama, Spanberger, and the DNC are against the ballot measure."
What is "remarkable," @nytnickc.bsky.social, is that it didn't even occur to you to ask, hey, why are there these mid-decade redistrictings happening in the first place? What did Trump say the goal of them were?
Kinda weird isn't it? Kinda weirder than a "Dems are hypocrites!!?!" angle?
“Over on Twitter, they’re” shhhhh. Shhh.
Shh.
"PARIS -- PARIS (AP) — Elon Musk has been summoned to Paris on Monday, where investigators are looking into allegations of misconduct related to the social media platform X, including the spread of child sexual abuse material and deepfake content."
My god. Essential, horrifying reporting here.
Ah. I guess I’ve always thought of Cobain as more of a tragic figure than prophet. Still makes me sad.
Our Christ figure? This one flew past me, I'm afraid.
This weekend I gave a presentation to a group of mostly college-aged folks and had a little line at the beginning of my slides that described it as an "AI-free presentation made by a human, for humans" and I had to pause for clapping at that part
you love to see it
You know I knew that Door Dash woman looked familiar
Disappointed in my fellow GenXers. Never once in my life have I voted for a Republican, but I cannot even imagine wanting to do so now.
a screenshot of the "New Bestsellers" list from Substack, with Andrew Tate in the #1 position
Hey, look at Substack promoting Andrew Tate as the #1 new bestseller. The company's amoral leadership & backers will platform anyone, even ludicrously toxic rapists & human traffickers.
I too have written about white conservatives in southern state legislatures rushing through bullshit changes to the law just to thwart the advancement of literally one black man, but I'm a historian who writes about the Jim Crow era South and not a reporter discussing current fucking events there.
An mRNA treatment for PANCREATIC CANCER was in trials, among many other uses. Choosing to end this research is choosing to sentence millions to an early, painful death
I would have been happy if Kamala won, but primarily because she's not Trump. We need somebody who's unapologetically left wing and has more appeal across the board.
I want an AOC or somebody similar who is not an establishment Dem who just wants a return to business as usual.
I would like it if the people seeking the highest office in the land had a vision for the country that goes beyond a belief that power is good and they should be the one in charge.
There are plenty of horrific, corrupt abuses of power to go around; so far the public truly does not seem to give a damn, or at least not enough of a damn, about any of them...
More or less. My brain is fried; I’ve just enough to more or less function through the day. Any “extra” activities are just gonna have to wait.
I’ve been thinking about this guy almost daily for ten fucking years. essentially my entire 30’s. when he finally croaks I imagine I’ll let out a sigh so deep it realigns my fucking spine
In Korea, when the president declared martial law after midnight and erected barricades in Seoul, congressional reps from all parties ran into the streets, yanked ak47s from the army at the barricades, broke down the locked door to Congress, repealed the martial law order, and arrested the president
I have voted twice to advance articles of impeachment. We cannot wait. Congress must convene immediately and begin proceedings to remove this man from office for the safety of our nation, Americans, and the world.
This is horrifying from every possible angle. It is horrifying that we're willing to even imply we might use nuclear weapons, much less in a war that we started and have no reason to be in. Trump and his cronies have made the world markedly less safe no matter whether he actually does it.
I heard someone say that we should be registering voters at gas stations.
You deserve love. You deserve safety. And you sure as shit deserve a whole lot more than you are being given or even allowed.
You are seen. You are loved. You belong.
Happy Trans Day of Visibility to all of our brothers, sisters, and siblings out there. May every day get better from here.

A single vote for Trump in the birthright citizenship case would be as bad as anything the Court has done since Bush v. Gore. This issue has been settled for more than a century. It is the jurisprudential equivalent of asking what 2+2 is. Any answer other than 4, something is deeply, deeply wrong.
In recent days, AMA communications to the New York Times have requested a correction on their part to reflect the actual language the AMA used in response to their inquiry. Additionally, a letter to the editor has been submitted requesting a public correction—this was neither a policy change nor was it an endorsement of a position taken by another medical society. In addition, during Congressional testimony in mid-March, I had the opportunity to set the record straight stating to the Subcommittee on Health of the House Energy and Commerce Committee that there has been no change in AMA policy with respect to access to and provision of gender-affirming care. This will appear in the Congressional Record.
The American Medical Association directly responds to New York Times coverage mischaracterizing their posiiton on gender affirming care for trans young people.

Your life isn't shitty because of Trans people. Your life is shitty because of billionaires and republican legislation.
Screenshot of a Vox article header in the Policy section. The headline reads in bold, "The fight over transgender rights in America has entered a new phase." Below it, the subheadline says, "The policy fight is moving well beyond sports and youth medicine. The political response hasn't caught up." The article is by Rachel Cohen Booth and dated March 17, 2026, 6:00 AM EDT.
I am going to become the joker.
We've been screaming from the rooftops that this was never about sports or trans youth healthcare. Instead, we were ignored and browbeaten by a bunch of idiot centrists who took the concerns of people who want us eliminated in good faith.

Ouch. That truly sucks - I'm really sorry. I hope you land well.
