1 of the most striking things I notice in my ‘job’ as a foster carer is how children as young as 2-3 come to stay with us, complete strangers and at bed time they just settle and go straight to sleep. That have so little attachment to a family it doesn’t occur to them to miss them.

I’ve also been a foster carer for 14 years and have looked after some extremely vulnerable children in that time.
The damage parents can cause to their children is immense.
Just don’t have a child if you’re not committed and if you do then fucking see it through.
It is what it is for #LP. We still have contact with him and he’s doing ok ish. I just hope that 13 yrs of having positive experiences and love will be enough to keep his mental health and moral compass intact.

My granddaughters mother decided she didn’t want to be a mother last year and walked out in her partner and four year child. She barely sees her daughter now. I can’t tell you the emotional damage she has caused to that beautiful child.
Parenting is for LIFE
I’m sorry this makes my fucking blood boil.
Having a child is a LIFE LONG commitment. It’s not a pair of trainers you can shove in a cupboard when you have buyers regret.
I live and work with the consequences of absent and inadequate parenting.

Don’t know where to start …
Son’s partner walked out on him and their 4yr old child in October.
Foster placement with former #LittlePerson broke down after 13 yrs and he moved out in December.
Business struggling and had to make team redundant this month.
But health wise all good so 🤷🏼♀️
