Using both GLP-1 and CGM for people with T2D increase time in range and reduce cost and increased weight loss and increased quality of life. Helps partially by helping people to modify behaviour.

Could we use the word « remission » if a perso with T2D uses CGM and has >90% of glucose levels in #TING time in normo-glycemia?

Tbattelino cannot understand why we don’t use CGM in diagnosing T2D when you consider how the metrics changed compared to a fasting glucose value.

New language at #ATTD2025:
TITR (time in tight range) or 70-140 mg/dl

If you have stage 2 T1D and more than 18% of time > 140 mg/dl, you are likely to progress to stage 3 T1D.

With auto-antibodies, we know who will progress but the « when » question is more complicated. Younger people tend to progress more quickly than older people.

A friend was asking random diabetes questions and one was “how much insulin have I taken in my life?”

It turns out that in 10160 days of diabetes I’ve taken roughly 305000 units, which translates into a little over 3 litres. Doesn’t seem like a lot in almost 28 years!
